Blog Design Team: Textured Beauty
TGIF! Can you believe how quickly this week just zipped by? Our entire team is gearing up for some pretty fabulous new products coming out very soon and we’ve been busy, busy, busy! So we were so happy to have a chance to sit back and enjoy a beautiful piece of crafting by Blog Design Team member Sharon Harnist. It’s the perfect way to ease into the weekend! Check it out…
And now here is Sharon to tell you all about her project…
As the height of flower season approaches, I have a fun card full of texture and flowers to share with you, and it all starts with the gorgeous Rosy Posey Embossing Folder I fell in love with from last month’s release! Here’s how this card came together:
Texture Element #1: After dry embossing a Sugar Cube card base with the Rosy Posey Embossing Folder in my die cutting machine, I swiped Delicata Golden Glitz metallic ink pad over the surface of the raised embossing — instant color and glam!
Texture Element #2: Next, I die-cut another textural element using TE Wool Felt with the Leafy Branch die using Split Pea Felt. The Bloomers 1 and Bloomers 2 dies were used to cut Cherry Blossom, Lip Gloss, and Butter Felt, which were layered together to create the pretty flowers.
Texture Element #3: The felt flowers were hand stitched together in the centers with white thread.
Texture Element #4: To pull the card all together, I die-cut Cookie Monster Cardstock with the Picture Perfect-Smile/Hello stitched die. The die-cut stitching draws your eye all around the perimeter of the card, leading you to the pretty simplistic Hello sentiment.
Texture Element #5: It’s not really a textural element you can actually see, but Foam Tape was used to adhere all the elements to the card front, which creates tons of visual interest!
I hope the flowers are all blooming in your part of the country, creating a beautiful textural landscape!
Thank you, Sharon, for sharing your gorgeous, multi-textured card us! You can find more of her work on her blog, PaperFections. Have a joyful day!
