Knock Knock! Who’s there? June Sneak Peeks!

Hey there, crafty friends! Did you catch our big news last week? I have been thrilled by the response to our brand new ink that coordinates with our premium cardstock colors. Our amazing Creative Team and several special guests took the ink for a test drive and shared their projects with you last week. I can’t let a week pass by without some excitement so I thought we’d get started with sneak peeks for our June Release! Are you ready for summer? If not, you will be after checking out projects from the Creative Team this week. They’ve been busy designing summer scenes with fresh florals, a scooter, a surf bus, and a trendy pineapple too! All of the new products will be available for purchase at the TE web store beginning on Thursday at 7am PST! So grab your favorite beverage and join me this week to see what’s new and find out how you can win it before you can buy it!

I’m back this release with my Question of the Day. Here’s a little recap of how things work: Each day of sneak peeks, I will post a Question of the Day and you can leave a comment with your answer for a chance to win one of our new release products or Grand Prize! To continue celebrating the release of our ink, our Grand Prize this month will be a full set of mini ink pads (all 12 colors!). And now for today’s projects! I’ve had so much fun using the latest addition to the TE family of products; our premium ink that coordinates perfectly with our cardstock. So it makes sense that the first project I stamped for this release pairs the bold, solid images in the Fresh Florals stamp set with our new ink. It’s a match made in heaven!

I started by embossing the Chevron embossing folder onto watercolor cardstock. Then I watercolored inside random openings with various Zig markers. I like to scribble my Zig markers onto an acrylic block and pick up the color with a water brush.

After finishing the background I decided to highlight a sentiment with the smallest frame from the Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate and build a small bouquet in the corner of the frame. I stamped and die cut more flowers and leaves than I needed as I like to have lots of options while building bouquets. Don’t worry… I kept the extras to use on another bouquet later!

My Question of the Day came out of the design of my next card. I love the Door to Door series and really enjoyed envisioning what a summer doorstep could look like. I’ve been thinking about painting the door to our home teal (yes, I’m slightly teal obsessed), so I thought this was a good opportunity to try it out first. It’s not quite the same commitment to cut a teal door out of paper as it is to paint the door of our home! *wink*

The card size is A2, however, the roof sticks out over the top of the card so this would need a larger sized envelope. I embossed the card base and the planters with the Brick embossing folder.

I was also tickled to discover that the previously released Little Bits – Flag is sized to work with the Door to Door in addition to the banner and sentiment from the Welcome Home stamp set.

Beautiful flowers and a few kitschy summer signs are pretty much the extent of my summer decorating. I do, however, enjoy having a brightly colored table setting when welcoming friends and family to summer gatherings.

    I love decorating for the seasons! In summer my living room is done in a combination of red/white/blue and bumble bees. My kitchen is done in a beach theme with shells, little lawn chairs, a sandcastle made out of porcelain, a blue wire lighthouse, etc. I go with a color scheme of blue/white and an occasional pop of yellow. On the front porch it’s white wicker with red geraniums and occasional flags. Thanks for the chance to win!

    In summer, I try to add flowers inside the house. If I can clip a few to put in a vase, I am happy, but I will also pick some up at the store. My front porch and deck both have flowers at the moment. Love this new release! Those inks are a wonderful addition as well as the stamps.

    My best summertime décor comes from flower bouquets from the flower garden. I hang up the flag, plant petunias and zinnias and bring in flowers-large and small. It’s simple but everyone seems happy to have a bouquet around!

    I plant flowers in my pots and have a couple hanging baskets. My new favorite is a pot sitting on a old wire chair. Wyoming has a short growing season, so I try and get all the color I can for the short time we have. I love how the ink pads and paper match!

    I’m a sucker for doors (I have many framed photographs of doors decorating the inside of my house). So, the door card is a favorite.

    I decorate the outside by having hanging plants/flowers; summer wreath on the light fixture; and we have a wrought iron stand that I put beach-themed items (like a jar of seashells).

    LOVE the idea of a teal door! If our house wasn’t blue I would convince hubby to paint ours teal!! I am working on red for our door because it signifies good luck!
    We don’t really decorate for summer other than putting out our patio furniture, keeping the lawn mowed, making sure the pond/waterfall remains looking clear and keeping the flower beds weed free. That is enough to keep us busy till bedtime each night. Hubby works full time and due to bad health and our 4 year old granddaughter with me almost 24/7 I don’t get to help out much with yard work but I am very good at delegating! LOL
    Hubby loves to make me happy and dotes on me and I know how lucky I am to have him! He is a good man and I love him dearly!

    The farm decorates itself with all the beautiful flowers, fruit and babies… Love the green grass and blue sunny sky. When it isn’t raining. LOL Got to love Oregon weather, if not wait 5 minutes and it will change. 😉

    Living in a townhouse with ‘strict’ regulations, I don’t have much leeway for decorating (sad face!). If I did…I’d have a lovely spring wreath, filled with gorgeous summery florals, hanging pots of petunias and oodles of flower pots of various kinds. And, I’d have a garden…a big garden!     Well, I don’t actually usually change out my decorations. My apt is decorated in gold & glitter…w a touch of teal and purple. SOOOOOOOOOO, there is NO reason to swap out the glitter…it is a year round decoration

    I don’t decorate inside nearly as much as I used to, but, come June, the bunnies from spring get replaced by Teddies wearing red, white, and blue, and I bring out little flags and a birdhouse that matches them. And like some have said above me, I bring in flowers from the garden as often as I can. Love the new embossing folder this release, along with the Fresh Florals!

    I love this Welcome card! So cute with the flower pots and wreath on the front door. You know, I used to love to decorate the house for each season or holiday, but the last few years it’s been hard to find the energy to juggle grand babies and decorate too. Last year I used all American red white and blue decorations that spanned the months after April clear until September and Labor Day! Sadly, this year my Easter stuff is still sitting on the side lines in the Kitchen! I’ve got too much stuff in my closets, to poke it all back in and find what’s next. This year 2016, I’ve invested in some plants and annuals for the front and back porch and that’s pretty much my decorations for Summer. LOL. Thanks TE!

    Aside from a few flowers outside and lawn furniture, I am a minimalist when it comes to decorating. As for inside the house, I prefer to purge “stuff” when I spring clean and only decorate with fresh cut seasonal flowers as summer progresses right now my house smells like fresh lilacs.

    We live in the deep South and our home is done is coastal cottage, so it feels summery all the time. usually I put out a fresh summery wreath on the door since the heat and sun really take their toll on outside decorations.

    I decorate for summer by put out pretty flowers both inside and out. My deck becomes my favorite place to hang out. I remove the heavy bedspread and put on a summer light weight one. I open windows and let the sunshine in!!
    I REALLY LIKE THE NEW STUFF. Can’t wait to see the new ink colors. Hope there’s a good red!!

    I love the cards today. I don’t decorate for summer other than planting a few flowers outside. Inside I have my room that I call the beach room so it is decorated for summer all times of the year.

    Wayne and I will be moving again at the end of this month. That being said I think the only decorating that I will be able to do outdoors is buying some pretty potted plants. Next Summer the sky is the limit. I love the idea of your painting your front door and may have Wayne do that next summer. I love your welcome card it is so pretty!

    Yay! I’m so excited about this release! Since there are some patriotic holidays during the summer I usually have red, white, and blue decorations around the house and on the door. A few years ago I made a wreath that resembled the flag.
