Blog Design Team: Stacks of Love!
Hello there, crafty friends! Today, Blog Design Team designer Amy Kolling is sharing a delightful card with us today using our Stacked Coffee Mugs that you will want to re-create! Check it out…
Here’s Amy to tell you how she created her cool card:
Hello! A few releases ago, I fell in love with the Stacked Coffee Mugs. Now, I must confess: I don’t like coffee at all. I actually detest the smell if I’m being honest. BUT there are so many cute coffee themed products out there and I have quite a few friends that drink coffee, so I get to make cards for them!
I started with a piece of watercolor paper and color washed it with a Wilted Violet Distress Ink background. After letting that dry, I stamped my sentiment from Koffee Time in Oreo Hybrid Ink using my Mini Misti tool. It took a few times to get my sentiment as dark as I wanted it on this textured type of watercolor paper, so using the Mini Mist was great.
I always keep my “scraps” of colored watercolor paper. If I don’t like how it came out for a particular project, it makes it perfect for die-cutting small things. So I pulled out some of my colored watercolor scraps and die cut the “backs” to the cups using the dies from Stacked Coffee Mugs. I love the bright colors backed onto the Stacked Coffee Mugs die-cut with Oreo Cardstock.
To finish my card, I used some white paint and flicked some across my panel making sure to mask my sentiment. Once that was dry, I added my coffee mugs with foam adhesive.
Thanks so much, Amy, for sharing this fun coffee-themed card (despite absolutely hating coffee)! For more of Amy’s wonderful work, visit her blog, Stamp-n-Paradise! Have a joyful day!
