So sit back and enjoy getting to know these lovely ladies. ALSO — we have a chance for you to win a fab prize or two over the next few days!
Born and raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Tricia still makes her home there, though she has lived in Boston, Cartagena (Colombia), and Barcelona (Spain). Tricia is married to her best friend and together they have three children (age 10, 8, and 3) and she leads a busy life as a stay-at-home mom managing schedules and running their household. Already a longtime fan of scrapbooking, stamping, and card-making, she turned to planning to keep things organized. Before long, Tricia discovered a community of creative planners and was hooked. She also enjoys playing volleyball and tennis, and her family are avid boaters — in fact, they live on a boat during the summer months to enjoy water sports and have fun in the sun! You can keep up with Tricia and her planner projects on Instagram (@inkyplanner) and on YouTube.
A Note from Tricia on her project…When I saw the new Sneak A Peek stamp set, I knew I had to add these critters to the special days in August. They peek out as an adorable reminder of birthdays and other fun events. And the best part is, you can pair stamps from the soon-to-be released Best Day Ever (like the hat, cupcake, balloons, etc) or Chit Chat (tons of speech bubbles and phrases) for even more fun combinations!
Along with her husband of 8 years and 2-year-old son, Sparkle makes her home in Portland, Oregon finding her way back to her hometown after living in Denver and Seattle. We couldn’t help but ask her about her charming name and she told us: “Yes, Sparkle is my real name! My ethnic names mean shiny light, so that’s why my parents named me Sparkle for my American name.” Following in her mother’s footsteps as a cardmaker, Sparkle has been crafting and stamping since childhood moving from scrapbooking to cardmaking to becoming a full-fledged planner girl! Sparkle is also a full-time Instructional Designer, creating training materials for a Seattle-based company. When she can find the time, she likes to read murder mysteries and chick lit fiction. Check out Sparkle’s gorgeous work on Instagram (@sparkle_creations) and on her Blog!
A note from Sparkle on her project: Don’t be scared to use other stamps from the Taylored Expressions collection in your planner! I wanted to create a fun summer theme for August, so I added images from Big Kahuna to my layout. Tip: If you’re worried about ink bleeding through your planner pages, stamp and color your image on sticker paper.
Originally from Jamaica, West Indies, Kymona now lives in Queens, NY with her two children (18 year old son heading off to college and 10 year old daughter who loves crafting as much as she does!). A card-maker for over a decade, what started as a hobby grew into teaching card-making classes at work before launching her own blog where she still shares much of her card-making projects. An avid knitter, Kymona also dabbles in pottery and is teaching herself the art of brush lettering. When not in her craft space, Kymona works full-time at a public hospital as a Case Manager. She also leads a reading group, teaches high school students on weekends, and has a love of learning new things. Relatively new to planning, there isn’t a project she won’t try and we love how she brings her card-making skills to her planner projects! Visit Kymona on Instagram (@kreativekymona), Twitter, and on her Blog for more of her creative work.
A Note from Kymona on her project: When I look at my monthly spread, I want to quickly see the important activities and occasions I have this month. Keeping these pages simple with a few icons and reminders allows me to see everything I have to do both quickly and clearly.
If Shelly looks familiar to you, it’s because she has been a part of the Taylored Expressions Creative Team for several years, sharing her wonderful photography and beautiful projects. Now, we are lucky enough to have Shelly join us as our Clearly Planned Creative Team Coordinator! Shelly, her husband, and four darling children live in a suburb of the Twin Cities in Minnesota. A decade-long stamper, Shelly turned to the craft as a creative outlet and has always been a self-described “planNerd”. She loves having everything organized. When Shelly isn’t ferrying around kiddos and keeping their home running like clockwork, she also loves to knit and sew and take photographs of her family. Catch up with Shelly on Instagram (@craftyshell3) and on her Blog!
A Note from Shelly on her project…I love how I can make customized sticky notes using Post-It Notes and the Planner Girl stamp set. I stamped the note paper stamp onto 2×3 sticky notes and trimmed around the edges. My daughter fell in love with them and of course, I made some for her planner too!
Rounding out the team is TE Owner and Creative Director, Taylor! Taylor, her husband Jon, and their two daughters live and work in Ankeny, IA, the home of Taylored Expressions. For nearly 8 years, TE has grown from a hobby to a passion, driven by Taylor’s desire to share her love of crafting and creativity. When she is not hard at work designing new products or scoping out the latest crafty trends, Taylor can be found on the volleyball court, hitting the gym, or reading a good thriller. You can find Taylor on the TE Blog, Instagram (@taylorvanbruggen), and YouTube!
A Note from Taylor on her project…July was a busy month of birthdays in our family, so I had fun decorating my monthly spread with birthday reminders using icons from the Best Day Ever set. I’ve also enjoyed using up lots of random number stickers from my stash to number the days of the month and mixing in stamped numbers from the Number Game set, too.
