Hey there, crafty friends! It’s Taylor here today and it’s time to start sneaking peeks at another exciting release! September marks Taylored Expressions’ birthday and this year we’re celebrating EIGHT fabulous years of sharing joy! It’s hard to believe what my fingers just typed! I feel so incredibly blessed by each one of you who have played a part in this little dream turned reality. Without you and your generous heart and creative spirit, our mission to share joy with those around us through handmade creations would never be realized. Thank you for the many ways you’ve supported us throughout the years: with a kind and encouraging email, an excited comment, an order of our products, a story of how you’re using your creative talent to bless others. This week we’d like to share a token of our appreciation with party prizes and favors so grab your favorite beverage, settle in, and let’s get started with our exciting party plans!

If you’re reading this, that means you made it through our party plans and we’re on to the goodies included in our September Release! Since we’re celebrating our birthday, it’s probably no surprise that today’s sneak peeks are all about birthday! Our entire creative team has been busy whipping up inspiring samples, so let’s get started!
First up, I have a card using the adorable If Balloons Could Talk stamp and die combo. This is another in our series of sets where you get to choose which face you’d like to put on the character (this time it’s balloons!). I paired the images with the new Party Streamers stamped in a rainbow of colors in the background.
The background was a tad busy so I calmed it down with a panel of vellum in the center popped up using
Kool Tak foam squares that works great for hiding behind vellum. I sooooo badly wanted to use the sentiment “I’m so excited I could explode!”, but I just couldn’t get it worked into the front of the card so I stamped it inside. Cracks me up!
To finish it off I cut the Little Bits – Birthday Confetti from a rainbow of cardstock and added the over the top of the vellum along with some coordinating Doodlebug Sprinkles.
Here’s a closer look at the new products I used on this project:
My next card features one of my favorite products — the
Birthday Watercolor Panels! Our
Uplifting,
Keep in Touch, and
Christmas watercolor panels have been really popular (we stampers love to color!) so I’m thrilled to introduce a new set of watercolor panels themed for birthdays! The pack includes 12 designs pre-printed on 118 lb. watercolor cardstock. Each panel measures 3″ x 4″ and there are 3 each of 4 unique designs in every package. I started with the birthday balloons, but I know it won’t be long before I color up the other designs!
After watercoloring the design I went through my frame dies to find one what would work to create a shaker element. I’ve really been wanting to try my
Diamonds Topping set from Queen & Co. Each set includes 8 colors for a rainbow of sparkly diamonds that are perfect for shakers! I used the white, purple, pink, and yellow diamonds in my shaker element.
After creating the shaker element, I decided to grab the new Confetti Embossing Folder for the background. I inked the raised side of the embossing folder with Lollipop ink and sandwiched a piece of Lollipop cardstock inside the folder before sending it through my machine. I just love the background it created and how the confetti pieces coordinate with the fun shaker element!

I also have a project to share using the Wish Big stamp and die combo which is FREE with purchase of $50 or more during our birthday celebration. Here’s what I came up with:
I started by stamping the balloons in the background. I wanted the card to remain fairly simple, so I accomplished this without masking anything. I simply started on the left and stamped three teal balloons first (I did not re-ink after each time I stamped). Then I continued doing the same with the green. When I got to the purple, I decided I wanted an additional purple balloon on the left to balance things out. So I started by first stamping on the right side (full ink) then my second stamp of purple was on the left side and the final (faintest) purple balloon is at the top right. I did the same thing for the balloon strings pairing up the most intense first stamp of the string with the most intense first stamped balloons.
Then I added the Little Bits – Birthday Confetti (I can tell this is going to be one of my favorite dies!) to the background along with coordinating Doodlebug Sprinkles. The ‘happy’ was embossed with white embossing powder onto Jelly Donut cardstock, die cut with the coordinating die, and popped up with foam tape. Another one of my favorite dies (Frame in Frame 2) provides the happy scalloped edge for my image panel.
We also have a special guest joining us to share another project using Wish Big. Take a look at the adorable card designed by the talented Sharon Harnist!
I just love the watercolored effect on the balloons and the gold splatters in the background definitely scream party! And if there weren’t enough fabulous details, did you see how she tied each of the balloon strings to the puffy words? Love it! You can find all of the details about Sharon’s project on her blog
PaperFections.
Thanks so much for joining us for our first day of sneak peeks! Don’t forget to leave a comment for your chance to win one of eight gift certificates we’re giving away to celebrate our birthday!
