Sneak Peeks! Love is in the *cold* air!
Good morning, crafty friends! It’s Taylor here today which means it’s time to start the sneak peeks for our next release! We received our first dusting of snow in central Iowa over the weekend! Even the chill in the air (which I knew was coming eventually, but didn’t want to admit!) couldn’t take away the pure joy and excitement of watching our girls bundle up and run shrieking onto the driveway covered with snow. Granted, it was only a couple inches of snow, but you would have thought it was a foot of snow by how excited they were. Priceless!
I know we’re all busy preparing to celebrate Christmas in 20 days (just 20!?), but at Taylored Expressions we’re also mixing in some love songs with all those Christmas carols as we launch our December Release of Valentine themed products! Now I want to show you just a couple of the amazing projects created with this cutting plate:
This beautiful card was created by designer Jean Manis. She began by die cutting the design from several colors of TE cardstock. Then she took the white die cut design, layered onto her card base, and used this as a guide to put the puzzle back together with several different pieces.
I love how she stamped her sentiment onto vellum in order not to detract from the beautiful design and colors!
Designer Jen Shults took a different approach by sponging a sheet of Sugar Cube cardstock with several colors of TE ink. She used all three of our newest colors (Lavender Glaze, Potato Chip, and Sprinkles!) including a few previously released colors too. Then after die cutting the sponged design she adhered the cutout heart pieces; some directly to the card base and others with foam tape. And the sentiment was offset on vellum to allow us to see the full beauty of the design!
The next couple projects I want to share were designed by Gayatri Murali and she used my very favorite combination of colors… RAINBOW!
She used the new Stroke of Genius – Valentine set to stamp hearts across each of the cards in various colors of the rainbow. Layered over the top of each rainbow heart arrangement are the new Loved and Sweet script dies with a sentiment from the coordinating How Sweet It Is stamp set.
You might miss it at first glance, but check out the super cute Brushed Hearts Background on the ‘sweet’ card! Gayatri used Perfect Pearls to achieve the tone on tone pearly hearts in the background!

And because I can’t stop with all the cuteness, here’s a better look at the detail of the Brushed Heart Background on this adorable card designed by Jen Shults. She used the Brushstroke Valentine sentiment that we’re featuring today too:

Next up, we have a super cute Stamp & Die Combo on the feature list for today and there are several fun ways to use it! First, this adorable card by Jen Shults that pairs our new Stamp & Die Combo, Filled with Love, with our previously released Mason Jar stamp and coordinating die to create a fun jar filled with conversation hearts!
Here’s a look at the stamp and die combo, Filled with Love. You’ll notice the coordinating die allows for 9 hearts to be cut out at the same time…hooray for less cutting! Tip: Do not cut your heart stamp apart or it will not line up perfectly with the die. Instead, ink rows of hearts in different colors using our Mini Ink Cubes for more control.
And because the hearts in the die are evenly spaced, you could use the die as a template to arrange your hearts similarly to how Jean Manis did on this card. Or cut the nine evenly spaced hearts directly into your card front and back with solid or patterned paper!
Last, but certainly not least, I have prizes to give away on the blog this month as I continue my Question of the Day series.
