Watercolor Christmas
Happy Friday, crafty friends! Are you glad the weekend is here? Have you finished all your shopping? Things are really gearing up for the holidays around here and it is getting really festive around town! Today we have a pair of wonderful cards to share with you today from Gayatri Murali. She has watercolored up some of our Watercolor Panels and created some simple, yet beautiful cards that you can whip up in a jiffy. The great thing about these is that you can sit down and relax for a bit while you color. It’s a terrific stress-reliever!
Gayatri used our Christmas 3×4 Watercolor Panels. Here’s a note from Gayatri about her projects…
These panels are 3″ x 4″ in size and are printed with twelve Christmas and Holiday doodle images. Absolutely beautiful images and perfect for on the go. These panels can be used as Project Life cards or even ATC cards. I have watercoloured a couple of panels and used them to make cards.
This one is my simple version. I watercoloured this panel using Zig Clean Colour Brush Pens and aqua brush. I then applied Versamark on the edge of the panel and gold heat embossed. This frames up the panel beautifully and also gives the card a festive look. I love how clean this card is!
For this card, I added glitter to the baubles and glossy accents to a few of them to add dimension. To make into a card, I added a strip of pattern paper from the Playful Patterns Holiday 6×6 pack on the bottom of the card front. Then I trimmed a Sugar Cube panel by half an inch from the bottom, added a thin strip of gold glitter paper then adhered the panel on the card front using foam adhesives. I then wrapped gold twine on top of the card front into a bow. Finally, I foam mounted the watercolour panel on the card front. I wanted to bring all the gold together with the addition of single gold sequins to the bow on the watercolour panel.
Thank you so much, Gayatri, for sharing these lovely cards with us today! Be sure to visit her on her blog, Handmade by G3! Have a joyful weekend!
