May the Luck O’ the Irish Be With You!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, crafty friends! Are you wearing green today and hitting any fun parades? Well, our resident Irish lassie, Shannon White, will get you into the lucky spirit with two St. Paddy’s Day cards she created to unleash her inner leprechaun. Check them out…
A Note from Shannon about her cards…
Well, being the Good Irish Lass that I am, you know I can’t stop at just one card for St. Patrick’s Day! I do always send them out to friends and family each year, so I am always looking for a quick and easy way to whip up a few at once. In this case, TE’s Block Party – Lucky die was just the ticket for these super quick and easy makes. I simply adhered scraps of patterned paper I had on hand onto my Sugar Cube card bases and die-cut with TE’s Block Party Lucky die. To finish them up, I added some Little Bits Shamrock die-cuts.
For my second design, I wanted to show you all what I do with the “positive” pieces I save from previous projects, in this case, from one of my previous St. Patrick’s Day creations where I featured the negative cut out as my card’s focal panel. (You can see that project HERE.) As you can see, those positive Stitched Heart pieces were used to create this sweet little layered shamrock that is the focus of my card.
And again, I sketched and hand cut a stem and then added TE Heart Stacklets die-cuts on top. After assembling in to a shamrock shape, I added a button center. For my mats and BG layers I chose TE’s Sugar Cube and Toffee cardstocks along with more patterned papers. And lastly, to finish it up I stamped my TE Little Bits of Spring sentiment directly onto my card with Oreo ink.
Thanks so much, Shannon, for sharing a bit of Irish joy with us today! You can find more of Shannon’s work on her blog, Enchanted Ladybug Creations. Have a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day!
