Cards for Big Guys & Little Guys Week: Love You Bots!
Happy Tuesday, crafty peeps! This week, we’re taking a gander at cards for boys…big ones and small ones! Masculine cards often get the short end of the stick, so we are turning to two of our talented designers who have funny, rambunctious, guys in their lives to inspire us to create cards for the men in our lives. Today, Charmaine Ikach shares a sweet, bright card for a little tot. Check it out…
The set Charmaine used is called Far Out and it is a must have if you make cards for kids! There is a coordinating die set available called Robots that makes creating cards like the one Charmaine made here quick and easy! Here’s a secret: boys love to get cards just as much a girls (even if they don’t always show it.) Boys can be tricky to create for, but for little ones, you can’t go wrong using bright, primary colors.
A Note from Charmaine about her card…
I started by embossing the background. I used some Lemon Meringue cardstock with the On the Spot Embossing Folder to create a “space” looking background. I stamped the spaceship and robot and colored them using Copic markers, then die-cut them with their coordinating dies.
The sentiment is stamped in Sugar Cube ink onto Oreo cardstock and embossing in white. I added some sequins to act as “stars” and give the card a little sparkle. Such an adorable little set and a great way to let a kid know you love them!
Thanks so much, Charmaine, for sharing this fun card with us today! Do you know a little guy who would love this one? Tune in tomorrow for a card from Shelly Mercado, this time for a ‘big guy’!
