Fall Into Fall Week: Color Counts!
I can hardly believe it’s already Friday, friends! Last weekend, the TE Team was busy making crafty sunshine at our Stamp Joy live event, so, this weekend, we might all play a little hooky. We are so thankful for all the joy that was shared by everyone who attended, which makes today’s project is the perfect one to end a busy week on. With it, designer Keia Shipp-Smith demonstrates how important color choice can be when it comes to creating a seasonal card. Check it out…
I’m not sure which is the bigger star of this stunning card: the Blooms Overlay background Keia die-cut or the gorgeous die-cut Bloomers! To create this Fall card, Keia was careful with her color choices. Starting with her card base, she used a dark, woodsy Chocolate Truffle Cardstock, embossed with our Woodgrain Embossing Folder. By sponging on some golden ink on Sugar Cube Cardstock, she achieved a beautiful shade of yellow to place behind her Buttercream Blooms Overlay. (By adhering the overlay onto the panel first, it was then easy to use our Stitched Rectangle Stacklets to trim and get a terrific stitched detail!) Then, by choosing rich Fall cardstock colors for her Bloomers and Bloomers Greenery, Keia could really fall into Fall! Finishing off with a simple Thanks Script die-cut from the same Chocolate Truffle Cardstock as the cardbase, she’s tied everything together perfectly.
Thank you, Keia, for sharing this gorgeous Fall card with us! Wishing everyone a crafty weekend!
