How to: Watercolor Smooshing Notecard Set
Hey there, crafty friends! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It was the last weekend before school starts so we packed everything we possibly could into two days: the Iowa State Fair, an afternoon at the pool, back to school shopping, and my personal favorite – emptying the pantry, cleaning it, and restocking it with lunch box foods and healthy after-school snacks. Summer is over… no more popsicles for breakfast (just kidding… we don’t do that…. very often)! 😉
Today I’m popping in to share a beautiful set of notecards that Jean Manis created using our Liquid Watercolor and our beautiful collection of script dies with coordinating solid backers. These would be so fun to package up in a clear card box with coordinating envelopes and give as a gift! I can think of a bunch of friends and family members who would love a set of these to send!
For a unified look, Jean used a frame cut with the Ornate Frame Cutting Plate die from Sugar Cube cardstock on all of the cards. She cut the script sentiments–Hello, Thanks, Prayers, and Blessed–from silver foil and the script backers are cut from vellum so as not to distract from the beautiful watercolor.
To create the watercolor backgrounds, simply apply Liquid Watercolors to a craft mat, spritz the watercolor with a generous amount of water, and press your watercolor cardstock into the liquid.
Use a heat tool to dry the watercolor cardstock after placing the paper into the liquid. Repeat this process several times to get the desired coverage.
Let’s take a closer look at the four cards:
The Hello card combined Guava and Lemon Meringue Liquid Watercolors on the background.
The Thanks card combined Cookie Monster and Lemon Meringue watercolors for the background.
The Blessed card combined Guava and Plum Punch Liquid Watercolors for the background. Then wait for the panel to dry and add the sentiment from the So Very Blessed stamp set with Oreo ink.
The Prayers card combined Lollipop and Plum Punch Liquid Watercolors for the background. Then wait for the panel to dry and add the sentiment from the You’re in my Prayers stamp set with Oreo ink.
Thanks so much for joining us! I hope Jean’s beautiful set of notecards has left you inspired to create today! Have a wonderful day!
