Calendar Crafting 2019: The Mini Tear-Off
Good morning, crafty friends! Yesterday we launched our new desktop calendar collection and I want to take the rest of the week to continue sharing calendar projects using our most popular calendars of past releases. Our Creative Team has been busy creating new inspiration and I can’t wait to share it with you. Handmade calendars are one of my favorite gifts to give and to receive and I hope this inspiration puts you on your way to creating and gifting a pretty and purposeful gift!
Our mini tear-off calendars are the most versatile of our calendar products! They’re sweet and simple and there are so many different ways they can be displayed! You can go simple, generic, complex, or personalized. They can be displayed in a frame, on a desk, on the fridge, or tuck them away in your purse for quick reference. Creative Team members Gayatri Murali and Noriko Fairchild got busy creating these fun projects with the mini tear-offs:
Turn the mini tear-off into a house shaped fridge magnet by decorating chipboard coasters with patterned paper and adhering our Door to Door – Roof die cut. A few sweet butterflies ‘top off’ this sweet and simple option!
Add a bit more detail to this stand-up version featuring our Display Easel die and the partially colored Color Me Background stamp. This sunshiny desktop display is sure to put a smile on the recipient’s face 365 days a year!
Personalize your calendar creation using our Initially die collection and create a work of art that can be enjoyed year after year. Simply provide the calendar replacement for your recipient each year and this is truly the gift that will keep on giving for years to come!
Last, but certainly not least, create a gorgeous piece of desktop decor with this easel fold. The calendar displays at at the bottom of the folded piece and can serve as a ‘catch’ for the folded easel display. The instructions are simple so I’ll just leave them here whenever you’re ready to try this for yourself!
Step 1: cut an A2 size top folding card (4.25 x 11″) and fold in half.
Step 2: score the top in half at 2.25″ and fold.
Step 3: take an A2 size piece of cardstock (decorate it as you wish) and adhere it to the top of the half folded card
Step 4: in order to make it stand, you have to place something on the bottom to ‘catch’. Noriko utilized the texture of the Stained Glas Cutting Plate to provide a catch for her decorated panel, but there is also the calendar to fall upon.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you haven’t already grabbed your 2019 Mini Tear-off Calendars, you can find them HERE! See you back here tomorrow when I’ll be sharing a bit more about our lovable 3×4 Calendar! 🙂
