One Product Three Ways With Heather Nichols
Hey, crafty friends! If you are like me, you have a healthy collection of stamps, and dies in your craft supply collection. When I am looking at buying new products, I like to think about all of the different ways that I can use that product. There are definitely bonus points when I can see myself using a new stamp set or die collection in a number of ways. I absolutely love when I have products that I can use again and again!
The Taylored Expressions Creative Team is a great resource for ideas to use your stamps and dies in different ways. I just love release week when everyone shares their projects created with the products making their debut that month! This week a few of us have a fun feature to share with you: One Product Three Ways. We took one product (a stamp set or die) and created 3 projects to show you how you can use that product at least 3 different ways.

This week kicks off with a trio of projects from me (Heather Nichols) using the Free Fall Background stamp. What a great basic this stamp is to have in your background stamp arsenal. The polka dots lend themselves to so many different occasions and themes.
If you order any of the featured products now through March 17th for One Product Three Ways (today we are featuring the Free Fall Background stamp), you will receive a coupon to use for FREE shipping on a future order over $25 through April 30, 2019!

My personal card stash is pretty lacking in birthday cards lately and so I stuck with that theme to create my 3 different projects using the Free Fall Background stamp. You will also notice that I used the Celebrate Big Balloon Shaker die collection on each of my projects too – bonus ideas!

For this first project, I kept things pretty straight forward and used the background pretty much as it was intended on this fun birthday balloon shaker card. I stamped the Free Fall Background onto Toffee cardstock with Sugar Cube ink. The little circles that are floating down look like confetti and that is perfect for a birthday card!

I also stamped the Free Fall Background onto the balloon base of the shaker element on the card. Adding that little bit of fun texture to the balloon just ups the festiveness!

For this next project, I used the Free Fall Background stamp again for the background of the card. This time, I embossed the background image with clear embossing powder and then added color using an ink blending tool with Fruit Punch, Candy Corn, and Pineapple inks.

It’s fun to take a background from something pretty neutral to something bright and colorful! I added the balloon die cut from Pineapple cardstock that is shaded with Pineapple ink. The sentiment is created using the Mini Caps Alpha & #s die collection. Alphabet stamps or dies are great to have on hand to customize your own sentiment for a project!

For this last project using the Free Fall Background stamp, I used the stamp to add pattern to the die cut balloons. Instead of stamping the pattern in just one color, I stamped it twice in 2 different colors and actually flipped the stamp upside down each time I stamped to vary where the dots fell.
The balloons on this card are die cut from Candy Corn, Fruit Punch, and Pineapple cardstock. I stamped the first image in the same color of the cardstock and the second time with Sugar Cube ink.

I love the resulting pattern on the balloons! There’s a bunch of confetti scattered onto this card that I die cut with the Little Bits – Celebration Confetti die collection. The sentiment on this card is created with the Sending Script die and coordinating Sending Sunshine stamp set.

The Free Fall Background stamp is definite versatile with the numerous ways that you can use it on your project. I hope you enjoyed the ideas I shared with you today:
- Using the stamp for a card background with one ink color.
- Adding pattern to a die cut image.
- Embossing the background pattern with white or clear embossing powder and adding color around the embossed image.
- Using the stamp to create a 2 colored pattern or background.
Plus, don’t forget the bonus ideas in my projects using the Celebrate Big Balloon Shaker die collection!
