Send a Bouquet of Flowers for Mother’s Day
Hey, crafty friends! We have a special day coming up in a few weeks to celebrate our mothers, grandmothers, and other important women in our lives. It’s the perfect time to put your crafty skills to work and create the perfect handmade card to let them know how important they are to you!
Don’t worry, we have got you covered this week on the blog with all sorts of ideas, inspiration, a new crafty kit (coming later this week!), and more to get your creative juices flowing.
We featured some great new products in the April release perfectly geared towards making Mother’s Day projects. Right now, through Sunday, April 21st, you will get a free gift along with your order of $25 or more when you purchase from the new Mother’s Day products. Click below to shop!
We are going to start off this week with some beautiful bouquets of flowers that are super easy to care for… definitely the type flowers that are right up my alley!
Taylor created this beautiful Mother’s Day bouquet using the new Brimming With Love stamp set, coordinating die, and Brimming With Love Sentiments stamp set. Watch the video below to see how to stamp the main image from the Brimming With Love stamp set and use the coordinating fills to color everything in.
I really like how the fills are not meant to be perfect and how that adds so much character to your stamped image. Plus, it’s so easy to created a multi-colored image in no time at all!
The background of Taylor’s card is created with the Subway Tile embossing folder. After embossing the design on a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock, Taylor used a brush to add some Sea Salt ink to the raised areas of the background to help them stand out. The sentiment is from the Brimming With Love Sentiments set and Taylor created a bit of a watery look by inking the stamp first with Cookie Monster ink and then adding just a bit of Blue Raspberry ink to the top and bottom of the sentiment.
This next Mother’s Day card is one that was created by me (Heather Nichols) using the Brimming With Love stamp set, coordinating die, and Brimming With Love Sentiments stamp set. I embossed the main image and sentiment with clear embossing powder onto Sugar Cube cardstock and then added the fills right over the embossed bouquet. Where the image is embossed, it resists the dye based inks. I did add a bit more color with a blending brush over the sentiment to help it stand out a bit more.
Here’s one more gorgeous Mother’s Day bouquet card created by Angelica Conrad using the Brimming With Love stamp set, coordinating die, and Brimming With Love Sentiments stamp set. Instead of using the color fills to color her bouquet, Angelica used Copic markers. My favorite part of this card is how Angelica colored the jar portion to look like it was covered in chalkboard paint and added the sentiment embossed in white.
While we, of course, LOVE all of the new products for Mother’s Day that were released in April, I also really love to take a little time to revisit some previous Mother’s Day projects. Here’s a few pretty bouquets that you could make and deliver:
Jean Manis put together this fun shaker card for Mother’s Day. The shaker portion of the card was created with the Pitcher Vase Shaker die collection. Jean filled up the shaker with sequins and then added a beautiful bouquet using different flower and greenery dies from the Bloomers collection. There are so many fun flower options in the collection that you can use to customize your bouquets however you want!
And finally, we are revisiting one more bouquet for Mother’s Day created by Kerri Michaud. Kerri also created her bouquet using dies from the Bloomers collection and added it to a vase from the Various Vases die collection. The sentiment is from the Simply Said – Mom stamp set and Kerri added that to a Stitched Banner Stacklets die cut. The Stitched Banner Stacklets dies only have one notched end, but it is easy to add a notched end to the other side! Send your die through your die cut machine once, turn the die cut around and line up the die to cut the notched end on the other side. Only die cut the notched end portion in your machine and that will add a notched end to that other side!
Don’t forget that there is a SALE right now in the Taylored Expressions webstore through April 21, 2019.
