Framed Roses for Mother’s Day
Hey, crafty friends! Do you have traditions for Mother’s Day? When my girls were little we would go up to Duluth, in northern Minnesota, with my mom and spend Mother’s Day weekend at my grandma’s house. My aunt and cousins would come over and we would have a fun weekend with all of the girls in our family! Things have changed as time has gone by, but I am so happy that was something we did and we made lots of memories that I cherish. There were, of course, cards and gifts exchanged as a part of that time together too!
All this week we are sharing ideas, inspiration, a new crafty kit (coming tomorrow!), and more to help you create cards for the mothers, grandmothers, and other important women in your life!
We featured some great new products in the April release perfectly geared towards making Mother’s Day projects. Right now, through Sunday, April 21st, you will get a free gift along with your order of $25 or more when you purchase from the new Mother’s Day products. Click below to shop!
Today I have a brand new Mother’s Day project to share with you using the Framed Roses Cutting Plate die and new Framed Script – Happy die. Check it out in the video below:
All of the different Framed Script dies are designed to fit perfectly into the Framed Roses Cutting Plate die. Being able to swap out all of the different Framed Script sentiments makes the Framed Roses Cutting Plate so versatile!
I wanted to try a stencil technique with the Framed Roses Cutting Plate die and am so happy with the results! I painted with liquid watercolors through the openings on the die cut frame and the result is such a pretty stained glass look. The floral border is perfect for a Mother’s Day card, but can translate to many other occasions too.
I added the “Mother’s Day” sentiment to the Framed Script – Happy die cut using the Caps Lock Companion – Happy Holidays stamp set. There is a space under the “happy” on the die cut to add words or sentiments to complete your “happy” greeting and makes the Framed Script – Happy die one to keep at the ready for birthdays, weddings, and so much more.
This card right here? It will be delivered to my mom on Mother’s Day weekend!
I have a few more projects to share with you today that use the Framed Roses Cutting Plate die:
Keia Shipp-Smith created this beauty for Mother’s Day using the Framed Roses Cutting Plate die, Framed Script – Happy die, and Caps Lock Companion – Happy Holidays stamp set. She put two of the Framed Roses Cutting Plate die cuts together to create a faux gate fold card and dressed it up with some flowers that she created with the Bloomers 9 die collection. The result is an elegant card that any mother would feel special to receive!
I also had to revisit this pair of cards that Taylor created for the December release using the Framed Roses Cutting Plate, Framed Script – Hello, and Framed Script – Love dies. The color blended effect on her cards is just stunning and Taylor shared how to create the two blended frames at the same time in THIS VIDEO.
Because the Framed Script dies are interchangeable with the Framed Roses Cutting Plate, you could easy use the Framed Script – Happy die in place of the ones that Taylor used here to add a “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment. The Framed Script – Love die definitely works for Mother’s Day too!
Don’t forget that there is a SALE right now in the Taylored Expressions webstore today through April 21, 2019. Purchase any select Easter/spring product* and you can pick another select spring/Easter product* of equal or lesser value for 50% off. Now is definitely the time to grab some of those sets that you have had your eye on!
