August Sneak Peeks Day 1 – Farmhouse Florals
Hey, crafty friends! It’s Taylor here today! Can you believe it’s August? Only a few short weeks and my girls will be heading back to school – where has the summer gone!? August also brings a couple of other exciting things to Taylored Expressions as our crew will travel to Cincinnati for the Stampaway USA show later this week AND our August Release happens this Thursday at 9am CST!
That means The Creative Team and I have been busy getting crafty with the new goodies and we’ve got lots to share! Here’s an ‘at-a-glance’ look at the August Release and what you can expect from sneak peeks this week:
- This release includes over 30 new products including stamps, dies, a new Foil It product, and two brand new colors. Everything will be available at the TE webstore on Thursday, August 8th at 9am CST.
- Each day will feature a new how-to tip, technique, or process video from me.
- Get a chance to win it before you can buy it by commenting with your answer to my Question of the Day (located at the bottom of each sneak peek blog post)
- Last, but certainly not least – don’t miss this month’s special offer (details below).
When you order $50 or more August 8th – 11th, 2019, you’ll receive the Build a Scene Halloween 6×6 Paper Pack FREE! This Halloween Paper Pack includes 24 sheets of patterned papers in a variety of sweet and spooky patterns printed to match Taylored Expressions cardstock colors.
Now let’s get into the new goodies! I’m starting this release by sharing a card I created using the newest addition to our Clearly Crafty collection of photopolymer stamps. I’m super excited about all the possibilities with the beautiful watercolor style flowers in this stamp set. Check out how I used them to create the arrangement on this card:
I combined the Fresh-Picked Florals stamp set and coordinating dies with several other new products including the fabulous Shiplap Background and Handlettered Sentiments. Both of those are going to get tons of use in my stamp studio!
Here’s a closer shot of the project I shared in the video:
The alignment process should be pretty quick with the stamps in photopolymer, but to make it even easier I created a Style Sheet for you to reference when stamping. The Style Sheet shows a variety of recommended color combinations and a black arrow points to the area you’ll use to align the images on top of each other. I discuss the alignment in my video as well so pairing the video with the Style Sheet should really help your stamping process!
You can download your FREE Fresh Picked Florals style sheet HERE or by clicking the graphic above.
There are so many possibilities with this Fresh-Picked Florals set and I can’t wait for you to see more from the design team. The Supply List is below if you want to create this same project yourself!
We also created these Foil It – Handlettered Sentiments for even more options for using these versatile sentiments! Each package includes two sheets of toner sentiments printed on vellum and ready to be foiled! The pre-printed sentiments and the stamps are exactly the same size so the same die set will work to cut out the stamped sentiments and the vellum printed sentiments.
Our resident foiling expert, Noriko Fairchild, created this beautiful card using the same Fresh-Picked Florals stamp set paired with a Handlettered Sentiment that she foiled with silver foil and die cut to place over the stamped florals. She even added an extra layer of dimension with stenciled Wavy Stripe in the background!
Next up in the August release line up is the new Layer It – Rustic Floral die set and another option for getting that hand-lettered look on any sentiment you can dream up using the Handlettered Alpha clear photopolymer stamp set.
With the Layer It – Rustic Floral dies, you can create die cut rustic flowers in two different sizes. On the card below, you’ll see how Heather Nichols created her own rustic flowers by coloring different shades of pink and green liquid watercolor onto watercolor cardstock. After allowing the cardstock to dry, she die cut the flowers and added to the rustic style by layering them onto the Shiplap Background.
You can also create your own custom sentiments with the Handlettered Alpha stamp set. The stamp set features scripty style lettering and the clear photopolymer letters are super easy to line up. It also includes a smaller uppercase alphabet to add coordinating words to your script sentiments.
Jill Hawkins used the script letters in the Handlettered Alpha stamp set to create the colorful sentiment on this card. I love how she changed colors for each letter in the word “color” to create a rainbow effect. And she gave us another look at that beautiful Shiplap Background stamp!
Background stamp lovers rejoice – we have another beautiful background in the line up this month – introducing the new Foliage Background stamp!
This background features branches of leaves in a circular design with an open center area that is sized perfectly for adding lots of different sentiments like the Handlettered Sentiments, previously released sentiments in our Words of Faith collection, plus the beautiful pumpkin sentiment on the card below (also new with this release!):
Angelica Conrad‘s created this absolutely gorgeous card using the no-line coloring technique. She colored the leaves in a variety of fall colors and I love how realistic they look! As I mentioned above, the pumpkin in the center of the background is new with this release and I’ll share more on that in a couple more days.
Jill Hawkins took the Foliage Background in a different direction by using two shades of green ink on the stamp. She added color to the background using the grouping of small flowers from the Fresh Picked Florals stamp set and finished it off with a sentiment from the Handlettered Sentiments stamp set.
You still with me!? I hope so because I have one more exciting thing to share with you today! Join me in welcoming TWO new colors to the TE Rainbow – introducing Honey & Avocado!
I’m excited about adding these earthy shades to the Taylored Expressions color collection just in time for those fabulous fall projects! Honey and Avocado are available in full-size inkpads, mini ink cubes, ink refills, and our premium 100 lb. cardstock.
Heather Nichols featured both Avocado and Honey inks on this card with the Fresh Picked Florals stamp set. Don’t these flowers look just beautiful in Heather’s ‘krafty’ style!? Stay tuned tomorrow for more peeks at the new colors!
My question of the day is: What fall food do you most look forward to? Hmmmm… for me there are lots of fall favorites! I love that pumpkin-shaped candy corn and a delicious homemade apple crisp, a-la-mode of course!
Today I’m giving away the Fresh Picked Florals photopolymer stamp set!
