When you order $50 or more August 8th – 11th, 2019, you’ll receive the Build a Scene Halloween 6×6 Paper Pack FREE! This Halloween Paper Pack includes 24 sheets of patterned papers in a variety of sweet and spooky patterns printed to match Taylored Expressions cardstock colors.
For today’s project I show how we expanded our All Tucked In favor box collection to create these cute little treat boxes that can be themed for the ghouls and boys in your life or used to adorn each place setting at Thanksgiving dinner. Check out the video below for the full reveal:
It was so much fun to take our All Tucked In favor box and add the option for two uniquely styled cut-in dies to provide a window to your treats. Hershey Nuggets, Ghirardelli chocolate squares, M&Ms, candy corn, lots of goodies will fit nicely inside!
We also have two clear stamp sets with images and sentiments sized appropriately for decorating the favor box for both Halloween and Thanksgiving. The sentiments fit perfectly on the strip and the little images are work well for accenting the sentiment and adding a stamped pattern to the little boxes. These sets are also great for stamping on cards, tags and more!
Here’s a closer look at the project that I shared in the video:
I started by choosing five colors of cardstock appropriate for Halloween. I used Oreo, Plum Punch, Pineapple, Candy Corn, and Avocado.
After die cutting the boxes I stamped them with the tiny images and sentiments before adding an acetate piece over the window opening, adhering them together, and filling them with candy corn. Super quick and super cute! Here’s a full list of all the supplies I used:
I know lots of you love our Simple Strips Background and coordinating Simple Strips die, and I’m super excited to share an expansion of this concept with our new Mini Strips stamp and coordinating die!
The Mini Strips stamps feature shorter sentiments packaged in a smaller stamp set size. Now we can continue adding strip sentiments for just about every season, occasion, and holiday (psst… stay tuned tomorrow for the Halloween version!). The coordinating die features straight edge cuts to work with any card theme or style.
Noriko Fairchild used the new Mini Strips – Harvest stamp set to add sentiments to the treat boxes that she created with the All Tucked In favor box and coordinating window dies. I love how she trimmed and stacked the sentiments that were too long for the boxes!
Kim Singdahlsen paired several of the sentiments from the Mini Strips – Harvest stamp set with Fluffy Friends stamp set, Little Bits – Wine, Little Bits – Turkey Dinner, and Little Bits – Pumpkin Pie. Her card sure makes me chuckle! The “got stretchy pants?” sentiment is perfect with the full-cheeked squirrel!
Kim also created a more formal autumn card by pairing Mini Strips – Harvest with the Simply Stamped Leaves set. This would be beautiful for an invitation or thank you for a Thanksgiving gathering with family and/or friends. Now that you’ve seen the Mini Strips, keep an eye out on all the creative team projects – they’re everywhere!
Next up to share is the new Simply Smitten stamp set and coordinating dies:
This set features a comfy, cozy bear along with several accessories and sentiments. Use the pumpkins for a fall-themed project or use the flower pot for all-occasion cards throughout the year. Plus, the small curved sentiments fit perfectly onto the banner image!
Melody Rupple used the pumpkins on this sweet Thanksgiving card, adding an embossed background with the coordinating Floral Fields Background stamp (pictured below on the right), and finishing it off with two sentiments from the Mini Strips stamp set.
Jen Shults paired the bear with the previously released Birch Tree Background stamp and added a sentiment from the new Simple Strips – Friendship stamp. This Simple Strips stamp coordinates with the original Simple Strips die so you can cut all 18 of the sentiments at one time!
Do you remember the pretty pumpkin that adorned the center of Angelica’s gorgeous no-line colored Foliage Background card? Well, here’s a closer look at Flip the Script – Pumpkin:
Our Flip the Script stamp and die combos are designed to create quick and easy tags for every holiday! Simply stamp the pumpkin or sentiment and then cut it out with the coordinating pumpkin die. You can punch a hole in the tag or use the small circle die cut to add the hole for ribbon or twine.
While these were designed as tags, you can see that they also work great for cards as Gayatri shows us on this beautiful card paired with the Floral Fields background stamp.
Last, but not least, let’s talk a little bit more about our two newest additions to the TE color collection: Avocado and Honey!
I am so excited to add these beautiful fall colors to the TE rainbow and I can’t wait to play with color combinations using previously released colors as well. Noriko shares another colorful project with us featuring both Honey & Avocado along with the new Simple Strips – Friendship stamp set. Did you catch that she clear embossed and foiled the background on two of the cards!? Absolutely gorgeous!
And now for the question of the day! I can’t wait to read your answers to this question! I might also need to put on my stretchy pants because I’ll probably gain weight just reading through your comments – perhaps I’ll request some recipes too! The question of the day is:
What do you bring to your family’s Thanksgiving meal? OR What do you look forward to eating most at Thanksgiving dinner?
Today I’m giving away the Mini Strips – Harvest stamp set and coordinating Mini Strips die!
Leave your comment before Wednesday, August 7th at 8PM CST. One comment per person. Each comment will also be entered into our Grand Prize drawing for a $50 gift certificate! Winners are chosen at random and announced on the TE blog on Thursday, August 8th.
Make sure you check out what the rest of the Taylored Expressions Creative Team has been up to using today’s featured products! You will definitely be inspired! And then we’ll see you back here tomorrow for one more day of sneak peeks!
