Now let’s get to the inspiration with today’s video:
This week Heather and I challenged ourselves to use the Rainbow Bright foil and I’m so glad we did because I’m loving how this project turned out! It’s so bright and happy and even more sparkly in real life!
In the video, I share two different ways of using the Decofoil Transfer Gel Duo (both with and without heat). Both options are possible, but I had better results with the heat so make sure you check out the video for all the tips & tricks I learned through the process.
After applying the foil to the pasted background, I colored two of the rainbow images from the Brighter Skies stamp set and combined several words from the Building Blocks – Be Bright set to create the stacked sentiments.
Let’s take a closer look at the NEW rainbow products that are available to purchase today along with inspiration from the TE Creative Team:
The new Brighter Days stamp set includes four whimsical images perfect for rainy days and rainbows: rain boots, a rainbow, a cloud, and an umbrella along with five coordinating sentiments that are perfect for sending encouragement to a loved one. We have also released coordinating dies to cut out the images from the set.
Jen Shults showed off these images with her amazing coloring skills on this adorable set of 3×3 notecards! She colored the images with Copic markers and added them to notecards die cut with the Bracket Notecard die. The notecard backgrounds were created using the small square from the Masking Stencils – Squares set and a variety of patterned stencils that coordinate.
Jill Hawkins created this over the top adorable shaker card using the cloud image from the Brighter Skies stamp set. Did someone say google eyes!? Yes, Jil went there and I just can’t get over the cuteness! She filled her shaker with Bits & Pieces – Sparkly Stars and added a very light pattern to the background stenciled with the Splash stencil and Blender Brushes.
The new Building Blocks – Be Bright stamp set is the newest addition to the Building Blocks collection. Stamp 22 words and die cut them all in one pass through your machine using the Building Blocks die and our innovative alignment guides. Note: all of our Building Blocks stamps match the same die!
Melody Rupple stacked up several of the words from the Building Blocks – Be Bright stamp to create this phrase on her card. The sentiment is embossed in white on Oreo cardstock which really pops on the pretty design that she created with stencils, dies, and the rainbow image from Brighter Skies.
While you can no longer purchase the rainbow kit in its entirety, the individual stamps, dies, and stencils are now available in the TE webstore. Here’s a rundown of those products (plus more inspiration!):
Create a stenciled rainbow with your Blender Brushes and the Masking Stencil – Rainbow set. This is a set of two stencils so you can easily create the different colored rainbow arcs without muddying your colors. Use the included negative stencil pieces to make masking quick and easy!
Heather Nichols stenciled three arcs of the rainbow using the Masking Stencil – Rainbow set to create a half rainbow on this adorable card. She added the cloud from the new Brighter Skies set at the end of her rainbow and surrounded the main image with several clouds die cut with the Rainbow Cloud Duo dies.
The Over the Rainbow die can be used to cut and assemble a rainbow from your favorite cardstock, patterned papers, or even our 100% wool felt! The Rainbow Cloud Duo includes 2 clouds: one with a plain edge and one with a pierced detail.
Jill Hawkins die cut the Over the Rainbow and a Rainbow Cloud Duo using the TE 100% Wool Felt for this pair of rainbow cards! Felt definitely adds a soft texture and unique dimension to your projects, so don’t be afraid to experiment with it! The sentiments are white embossed over Blueberry cardstock and of course, Jill added her signature stitching!
Melody Rupple created this fun and splashy scene with the Over the Rainbow die, the pierced cloud from Rainbow Cloud Duo, Splash stencil, and cute rain boots from the Brighter Skies stamp set. I love how she inset the rainbow into the background and added Bits & Pieces – Drip Drops scattered through the stenciled water droplets!
Use the Over the Rainbow stamp set to add fun and whimsical patterns to your rainbows. The set also includes extra stars, hearts, a sweet smile, and a few fun sentiments. The Over the Rainbow Sentiments set includes 6 options that are perfectly curved to follow the arc of the rainbow created with the die or masking stencil.
Noriko Fairchild put the stamps from the Over the Rainbow set to work to create a background on the front of her fabulous gatefold card featuring a rainbow that she die cut with the Over the Rainbow die. Opening the card reveals another rainbow design stamped with just the patterns and a special reveal sentiment created with the Building Blocks – Be Bright stamp.
Today, I’ll be showing you a closer look at the rainbow products during “T Time” at 1pm Central on the Taylored Expressions Facebook Page. I would love to have you join me for some crafty chat! Hope to see you there!
