In today’s video, Mindy Eggen creates a bright and dimensional card using the Half a Heart Layered Stencil set, On the Block – Love stamp (+ coordinating die), and Building Blocks – Love Additions stamp (+ Building Blocks die). Watch the video below to see how much fun Mindy had creating this project:
In the video, Mindy shows how to use the Half a Heart Layered Stencil set She creates the stenciled design with Pink Champagne, Lollipop, and Cherry Pop inks. Mindy uses the On the Block – Love stamp and coordinating On the Block – Love Shadow die to create a dimensional sentiment along with the Building Blocks – Love Additions stamp (+ coordinating Building Blocks die).
Here’s a closer look at the new products from the Valentine release that Mindy used in the video:
The new Half a Heart Layered Stencil set includes three stencils that layer together to create a colorful pattern of two toned hearts. Make backgrounds for Valentine-themed projects with traditional reds and pinks or choose other color combinations to use for a number of other occasions.
We’re adding to the On the Block collection with the new On the Block – Love stamp and coordinating On the Block – Love Shadow die. The sans-serif block letters slightly overlap and are not perfectly aligned, adding a whimsical charm to the word.
A perfect companion to the On the Block – Love stamp is the new Building Blocks – Love Additions. Building Blocks – Love Additions includes 22 words and phrases that work perfectly together to create sentiments for any Valentine or love themed stamps and stencils. Cut out all 22 words and phrases with one pass through your die cut machine using the coordinating Building Blocks die.
I really love the dimension on Mindy’s card and the gold foil cardstock that peeks out from behind the ‘love’ words. She added even more shine by adding Bits & Pieces – Gold Drip Drops at the ends of the Building Blocks – Love Additions sentiments. This card is not only perfect for Valentine’s Day, it will work great for other occasions too. It’s always a good time to send love to the people dear to you.
Here’s one last round up of projects created by the TE Creative Team and a closer look at a few of the new Valentine release products:
This Valentine card by Emily Mydlowski is all about the pink inks! She stenciled the Half a Heart Layered Stencil set in Lollipop, Strawberry Milkshake, and Cupcake inks. I love the way that she die cut with the On the Block – Love Shadow die so that it is still attached to the bottom panel on her card and then stamped the cut out area with the On the Block – Love stamp. She completed the sentiment with the ‘is all you need’ phrase from the Building Blocks – Love Additions stamp.
Kavya used the Half a Heart Layered Stencil set to create the perfect background in Pink Champagne, Jelly Donut, Lollipop, and Peaches ‘n’ Cream inks for this Valentine card featuring Millie from the Love from Max & Millie stamp set. Millie is floating by the cutest shaker created with the Mason Jar stamp set (+ coordinating dies) that contains the ‘love you to pieces’ sentiment from the Handlettered Love stamp set and Bits & Pieces – Hearts embellishments inside.
I (Heather Nichols) had so much fun with the Half a Heart Layered Stencil set and added the stenciled design to several different colors of cardstock: Sugar Cube, Toffee, and Pink Champagne. For the first 2 layers of the stencil I used pink and red inks and then for the third I applied a metallic paste mixed with gold glitter through the stencil – I love the results! I cut the background apart using a Stitched Square Stacklets die and added the squares to these cute 3″x3″ mini Valentine cards. I finished things off with a few extra hearts and sentiments from the Pennant Parade – Valentine stamp set.
Our Mini Slim Designer Stencils are specially designed to work with our Mini Slim sized cards (3.5″ x 6″). The new Mini Slim Swiss Heart stencil is perfect for cards to celebrate love, Valentine’s Day, and more. The pattern of classic, uniformly sized hearts can be used for both elegant and whimsical designs.
Noriko used the Mini Slim Swiss Hearts stencil to create this stunner of a shaker card! The hearts are stenciled in pinks and purples to create the background of the shaker element and Noriko filled the shaker with lots of sequins, stars, and heart embellishments. The ‘you are loved’ sentiment is from the Handlettered Love stamp set is stamped and embossed on layers of vellum and cut out with the new Handlettered Love dies.
The Mini Slim Swiss Hearts stencil is the sweetest backdrop for this set of cards by Emily Mydlowski featuring Max & Millie from the Love from Max & Millie stamp set. I love how she coordinated the ink colors from the stenciled designs to match the ‘love’ sentiments stamped with the On the Block – Love stamp on each card. The additional love themed phrases on the cards are stamped from the Building Blocks – Love Additions stamp.
Gus & Gertie are making another appearance in the new Gus & Gertie Ride On stamp set (+ coordinating dies). The set includes three images; Gus & Gertie in a car, on a skateboard, and in a paper boat along with 5 coordinating sentiments.
Melody Rupple continues the Mini Slim Swiss Hearts stencil on this card featuring Gus & Gertie on a skateboard from the Gus & Gertie Ride On stamp set. She stenciled the heart background with Cherry Pop and colored the details on Gus & Gertie with Copic markers to coordinate. She paired the ‘never ‘board’ when we’re together’ sentiment with the ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ sentiment from the Mini Strips – Valentine stamp to complete the Valentine theme.
Gus is driving by to deliver a love note on this cute card created by Arjita Sepaha Singh with the Gus & Gertie Ride On stamp set. She stamped the ‘love’ word repeatedly with the On the Block – Love stamp to create the background and layered Gus in his car over the top. The ‘is all you need’ phrase from the Building Blocks – Love Additions stamp completes the sentiment on the card.
Natasha Valkovskaya pulled out her liquid watercolors to create this adorable card featuring Gus in his boat from the Gus & Gertie Ride On stamp set. She stamped the image with Toffee ink and then used liquid watercolor to add color to Gertie, paint fun red stripes on the boat, and create water for the boat to float on. A black marker was perfect to color in the nose and eye on Gus – and I do have to say that I am pretty partial to Gus in Toffee! *wink!*
