We are starting things off by revisiting the videos from last December that feature the products from the Like Gnome Other Kit:
This card and coordinating tag project is one that I created (Heather Nichols). The video walks you through how I created the card and I used the same techniques to create the tag! CLICK HERE to see the original post for a closer look at the project.
In this video, Emily Leiphart walks you through how she created the cute scenes on her card and tag set with the products from the Like Gnome Other Kit. CLICK HERE to see the original post for a closer look at Emily’s project.
Let’s start things off today with a look at projects using some of the products from the Like Gnome Other Kit: Like Gnome Other stamp set (+ coordinating dies), Layer It – Toadstools dies, Cable Knit Background stamp, Build a Scene – Heart Fence & Hill dies, and A2 envelope pack (2 Cherry Pop, 2 Lollipop, 2 Toffee).
Arjita Sepaha Singh watercolored the cute gnome couple from the Like Gnome Other stamp set and added them to a background created with the Wood Plank Background stamp. I love the bright and cheery colors that she used! The background is embossed in white onto watercolor paper and then Arjita added color with watercolor paint to create the perfect woodsy look. The ‘hey friend’ sentiment is embossed in white onto Oreo cardstock that Arjita set right between the two gnomes.
Here’s another great example of using elements from the kit with other products on this card by Emily Mydlowski! She used the Set the Scene – Heart Fence & Hill dies with the cute bunny in the carrot patch image from the Springtime Smiles stamp set. I really like how Emily added the texture to the fence with the Wood Plank Background stamp and set it in front of the colored image to “fence in” the garden. The sentiment is embossed in white on a strip of Oreo cardstock and Emily added a few Bits & Pieces – Hearts above the bunny for the perfect finishing touch.
Next, let’s take a look at projects using some of the products from the Happy Hex Kit: Happy Hex Mini Slim Background stamp, Happy Hex Mini Slim stencil, Happy Hex dies, Happy Hex Add-ons stamp set, and Typewriter Alpha stamp set.
Melody Rupple created a whole set of Mini Slim cards in a fun and fresh color combination using products from the Happy Hex Kit. She stamped the Happy Hex Mini Slim Background onto each of the card bases and then added mini hexagons cut out with the Happy Hex dies and stamped with patterns from the Happy Hex Add-ons stamp set to the design. The sentiments are stamped onto the larger hexagon from the Happy Hex die collection and set into the larger hexagon in the background design. This set of Mini Slim cards is perfect to package together and gift to a friend!
Latisha Yoast stamped the Happy Hex Mini Slim Background in a rainbow ombre effect to send a colorful ‘hello’. She inked up the background stamp with multiple ink colors – mini ink cubes work really great for this technique! – and stamped it onto a Sugar Cube Mini Slim sized card base. She stamped the ‘hello’ from the Big Hello stamp set and the ‘cutie pie’ from the Hearts A Plenty Cling & Clear Combo set in Oreo ink and added hearts from the Happy Hex Add-ons stamp set in colors to match the rainbow blend on the card. This card design would be a great one to mass produce!
I love how Natasha Valkovskaya took the geometric style of the Happy Hex Mini Slim Background stamp and paired it with an elegant floral to create this heartfelt Mini Slim card. The background is stamped with Mocha ink and the mini hexagons are added with the Happy Hex Mini Slim stencil using Toffee ink. The flower is from the Full of Flowers – Singles stamp set and is stamped with Mocha, Sweet Potato, and Toffee inks to coordinate with the background. Natasha layered it on a piece of vellum over the background pattern and I love how the vellum lets the flower shine, while still showing the pattern underneath. The ‘you’ve been on my mind’ sentiment is from the Simple Strips – Friendship stamp and is cut out with the Simple Strips – Asymmetrical die.
