Create the Cutest Scenes With the NEW Like Gnome Other Kit!
Hey, crafty friends! It’s Heather here with another day of inspiration to share with you using the new Like Gnome Other Kit! Have you fallen in love with these cute gnomes like we all have here at TE? Today, I have a new video to share from Emily where she shares how to create cute scenes using the elements from the kit to set the gnomes into on a card and a set of tags. I also have a few more projects to share with you from the TE Creative Team!
If you haven’t purchased the Like Gnome Other Kit, click below to shop and then keep scrolling for the projects and inspiration!
Watch the video from Emily Leiphart to see how she created the cute gnome scenes on her card and tags using the Like Gnome Other Kit:
In the video, Emily shares the contents of the Like Gnome Other Kit. She shares how she colored the gnomes from the Like Gnome Other stamp set using Copic markers and created the scenes for the card and set of tags using the Build a Scene – Heart Fence & Hill dies, Cable Knit Background stamp, Layer It- Toadstools dies, and the Set the Scene – Clouds Stencil Strips.
I love all of the details that Emily added to her scenes! She added ink blending to the toadstools to add dimension using Cherry Pop ink at the base of the cap and Sugar Cube ink at the top. The fence has ink blending at the bottom with Sea Salt ink to add shading and a weathered look. I really love the sky that Emily created with the Set the Scene – Cloud Stencils Strips using Sugar Cube ink on Salt Water Taffy cardstock. All of the blending and shading takes a bit of extra work, but it adds a wonderful effect overall to the finished card.
Emily used generally the same layout and design for the coordinating tags. She repeated the fence and hill like she did on the card and added a toadstool next to each gnome. I am a big fan of creating more than one project while you have all of your supplies out. You can never have too many cards and tags ready to go in your stash!
See the list below for the supplies that Emily used on her projects:
Here’s even more inspiration from the TE Creative Team using the Like Gnome Other Kit:
Kavya brought a rainbow of colors and paired the gnome with cute accessories to create this birthday card! The Cable Knit Background stamp is inked with different colors to create the great multi-colored look and Kavya blended a strip of cardstock in the same colors as the background for the gnome to stand on. The gnome’s rainbow cake and present wagon are from the Millie’s Birthday Bash stamp set and check out the fun foiled balloon he is holding!
How cute are the gnomes peeking through the window on this card by Kevin Bray? He used the Masking Stencils – Rectangles set to create the perfectly sized and centered window on the card and then stamped the gnomes on the bottom edge so they are looking in! The ‘peeking’ in to say hello’ sentiment is just perfect for this card and is embossed in white on Oreo cardstock.
Natasha Valkovskaya used the Like Gnome Other Kit to create this adorable Mini Slim card. I love how the top half of the card is stamped with the Cable Knit Background stamp and where the bottom of the stamp ends is the perfect place for the gnome to stand. Natasha colored the gnome with Copic markers including that cute rainbow striped hat topped with a gold drip drop!
Jen Shults dressed up this cute little gnome in pink and set her into a sweet mini scene on this card. She used just a portion of the fence from the Build a Scene – Heart Fence & Hill die collection over a blended background Jen created for the ground and sky. I love the sweet hand drawn details around the gnome’s feet and the toadstool bases and how Jen flipped the Set the Scene – Clouds Stencil Strips upside down to add extra texture to the sky.
And finally is the cute gnome couple on this card created by Arjita Sepaha Singh. I really love how Arjita used the Build a Scene – Grassy Hills die collection to create the scene for the gnomes! She tucked a few toadstools behind the hill in the front for a great dimensional look. Arjita really let her coloring skills shine on her projects created with the Like Gnome Other Kit and the gnomes on this card colored with Copic markers are no exception!
