Today’s video from Emily Leiphart includes ideas for three different card designs. She uses the new Black & White Blender Brushes along with the Delightful Daisy, Roundabout, and Dahlia stencils. Watch the video below to see how these cards are created:
In the video, Emily shares more about the new Black & White Blender Brushes and then shows ideas for using them with a few of our new stencils on three different card designs. Keep scrolling for a closer look at each of the projects!
For this first card, Emily uses the Delightful Daisy stencil to frame a background colored like a sunset with liquid watercolor paints. Emily uses a few shades of grey inks along with Oreo to stencil the daisies in just a few corners and she rotated the stencil to use a specific cluster of smaller flowers on the stencil.
The sentiment on this card is created with the Cap it Off Alpha dies and a cardstock strip stamped with the ‘I miss you so much’ sentiment from the Just Saying stamp set. To finish things off, Emily added a few jewels to the flower centers (a sneak peek of a new Bits & Pieces embellishment that is coming soon!)
On this next card, Emily used the Dahlia stencil to create a whole cluster of flowers on her card background! She moved the stencil around the cardstock, adding ink to just the center of the stencil using grey inks and Oreo ink with the black brush. The different shades of color add lots of texture and dimension!
The sentiment on the card is created with the On the Block – Love stamp that Emily inked up in a few colors to create an ombre effect. She also embossed the word with Diamond embossing powder to add lots of sparkle! The ‘sending’ word is from the Building Blocks – Love Additions stamp and is embossed in white on Oreo cardstock.
On this last card, Emily stenciled the pattern from the Roundabout stencil using Sugar Cube ink on Oreo cardstock with the white brush. She added the pattern to just the top part of her card and then embossed it with Diamond embossing powder – make sure to check out the video to see the sparkle and shine!
This card is finished off with a few colorful butterflies from the Social Butterflies Cling & Clear Combo set, the ‘thinking of you’ sentiment, and a few iridescent rhinestones.
Check out the list below for the supplies that Emily used on her cards:
Here are a few more projects from the TE Creative Team using the new Blender Brushes and stencils from this week’s release. First up are a few projects from Emily Mydlowski using the new Black & White Blender Brushes:
Emily Mydlowski went bold with the Striped Squares stencil and the black brush! Using bold black and white gives a modern look to your projects and Emily paired the stencil with the Masking Stencils – Squares set to create the backgrounds for her cards. She layered brightly colored flowers from the Picked Posies stamp set over the top of the striped backgrounds and added sentiments embossed in white on Plum Punch cardstock strips.
This next set of cards by Emily Mydlowski feature the Delightful Daisy stencil paired with the white brush! Emily used Sugar Cube ink to add the daisies to a few different colors of cardstock backgrounds: Jelly Donut and Sea Salt. She went back in with a bitty brush and added the centers to the daisies with Pineapple ink. Create a mask with masking paper/tape and a hole punch to keep the color on just the flower centers. The daisy filled backgrounds are perfect to highlight the gnomes from the Like Gnome Other stamp set!
Now, how about a few more projects created with the new stencils and Bitty Blender Brushes?
Laurie Willison filled up her card with a rainbow of colors using the new Rainbow Repeat stencil and her bitty brushes. She blended thin strips of color with her brushes and then trimmed her stenciled cardstock to fill just a portion of her card front. The ‘choose joy’ sentiment is from the Handlettered Sentiments stamp set and is embossed in white on Cookie Monster cardstock. Laurie added a few Bits & Pieces – White Rhinestones for a touch of sparkle.
Arjita Sepaha Singh used the Dahlia stencil to create a soft and pretty background for this Mother’s Day card. She applied Sea Salt ink through the stencil with a bitty brush, concentrating the color in the middle and lightening up as she moved to the edges. The Dear Mom sentiment is stamped over the top with Lollipop ink and I love the details that Arjita added with a marker and white gel pen. I also love how Arjita used the Pierced Circles Cutting Plate over the top of her stamped panel to add texture. The ‘You are simply…’ sentiment from the Perfect Parent stamp set is embossed in white on a grey cardstock strip.
I love the unexpected color combination (or expected because this is a Pantone color combination for 2021!) that Natasha Valkovskaya used on this ‘thinking of you’ card. She stenciled the Mandala stencil using Pineapple, Lemon Meringue, Earl Grey, and Sea Salt inks with the bitty brushes. She added the stenciled design to a card base stamped with the Rough Draft Background stamp and added the ‘thinking of you’ sentiment from the Botanical Sentiments stamp set.
