Heather Nichols used the items from the Argyle Bundle to create cards for Father’s Day! Watch the video below to see how she created the unique backgrounds on each of her three cards:
In the video, Heather shares three different background variations that you can create with the Argyle Stamp & Stencil set and Diamonds Piercing Plate. She uses the backgrounds on three cards for Father’s Day with sentiments created with the On the Block – Dad stamp (+ coordinating die) and Simple Strips – Man Myth Legend stamp.
The Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set and Diamonds Piercing Plate were designed to work perfectly together and Heather showed off three different ideas to create background designs using the sets in her video. From left to right on her cards above: the Argyle Stamp & Stencil set alone, the Argyle Stamp & Stencil set with the Diamonds Piercing Plate, and the Diamonds Piercing Plate with just the stencils from the Argyle Stamp & Stencil set. I also love the masculine color combination she chose (on Toffee cardstock of course!): Sugar Cube, Avocado, Honey, and Blue Corn.
The sentiments on these Father’s Day cards are created with the On the Block – Dad stamp (+ coordinating die) and new Simple Strips- Man Myth Legend stamp. She stamped the ‘Dad’ word in a tone on tone look by using the same ink color as the cardstock and the sentiment strips are stamped with Sugar Cube ink on each of the cardstock colors. I love how Heather used the three main colors on her cards from the argyle pattern and changed up the arrangement on each card between the sentiments, card base, and star embellishments. This is a great way to mass-produce cards, but still achieve a variety of looks!
Check out the list below for all of he supplies that Heather used on her cards:
Now, let’s take a closer look at the new products for our Father’s Day release along with inspiration from the TE Creative Team:
The Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set combines stamping and stenciling together to create a multi-colored argyle pattern. Stamp the lined diamond background stamp and then use the etched guides on the three included stencils to add each layer of colored diamonds to complete the pattern. This is a great background to use on projects with a masculine theme like Fathers Day, retirement, birthday, and more!
The Diamonds Piercing Plate adds a versatile design of diamonds made of tiny pinhole dots, is great for bold or understated backgrounds, and can also be paired with the Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set. There is no cutting edge on the Diamonds Piercing Plate, so you can place it on your project in various places and use it on different sizes.
Emily Mydlowski shows off two different variations that she created with the Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set for backgrounds on these cards. The card on the left uses just the stamp and stencil set for the background and the card on the right combines both the Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set and the Diamonds Piercing Plate. I love the argyle pattern tipped on its side and Emily added the stenciled diamonds and stamped diamond grid in a unique way! The effect reminds me of a stained glass window that might be at a tavern and that goes perfectly with the sentiment she created with the beer mug (I’ll share more about this in just a bit…) and Cap it Off Alpha dies!
The Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set isn’t just for masculine themed projects! Jill Hawkins created a colorful background of diamonds using the set for this fun hello card! She stamped the diamond grid using a gray ink and then instead of leaving open spaces in the argyle pattern, Jill shifted the diamond stencils around to fill in every inch of her background with color. The ‘hello’ sentiment is die cut using the Framed Script – Hello die and Jill added her signature stitching over the sides of the frame.
We’re adding to the On the Block collection with the new On the Block – Dad stamp and coordinating On the Block – Dad Shadow die. The sans-serif block letters slightly overlap and are not perfectly aligned, adding a whimsical charm to the word.
The new Simple Strips – Man Myth Legend stamp includes 18 sentiments that are perfect to celebrate the men in your life – with a bit of snark and humor! Use the innovative alignment guides to cut out all 18 sentiments with one pass through your die cut machine with the coordinating dies (sold separately): Simple Strips, Simple Strips – Well Rounded, and Simple Strips – Asymmetrical.
Melody Rupple added the On the Block – Dad over a background that she created with the Diamonds Piercing Plate and just the stencils from the Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set. I love her masculine color combination of Blueberry, Gumball, and Spearmint inks that she used! The sentiment strips are stamped using the Simple Strips – Man Myth Legend stamp with Blueberry ink onto Spearmint cardstock, cut out using the Simple Strips die, and layered onto Simple Strips Backer die cuts.
This card by Kavya makes me laugh out loud! She used the Sarcasti-chuck Stamp & Die Combo set with the plaid shirt from Sarcasti-chuck’s Wardrobe stamp set for this funny birthday card for Dad. The ‘Dad’ word is embossed in white using the On the Block – Dad stamp (+ coordinating die) and Kavya added the sentiment strips above and below ‘Dad’ that are from the Simple Strips – Man Myth Legend stamp. I love the Toffee tone on tone background on the card that is created with the Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set and Diamonds Piercing Plate! You’ll learn more about that beer mug below!
If you’re into crafts (i.e. craft brews! lol), you’ll love the new Hoppy Days Cling & Clear Combo set (+ coordinating dies)! The set features a red rubber stamp set with several beer mugs along with several masculine and beer-themed sentiments. Add fills to the mugs, bubble pops, hops, and additional sentiments to your projects using the included clear set of stamps.
The Ticks & Tacks Background stamp coordinates with the bubble pop images in the Hoppy Days Cling & Clear Combo set, but is versatile to use for many occasions! Use the background to create background patterns or add patterns to solid stamp images by doing the “kissing” technique on your projects.
Arjita Sepaha Singh used the toasting beer mugs image from the Hoppy Days Cling & Clear Combo set for this clean and simple card design that is perfect for celebrating – no matter the occasion! The mugs are colored with Copic Markers (check out that fun bubble detail!) and then layered over a background that is stamped with just the diamond grid from the Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set in Sea Salt ink.
Noriko Fairchild created an amazing interactive card using the Hoppy Days Cling & Clear Combo set. When you pull the tab at the top of the card, more beer mugs appear above the toasting beer mugs and sentiment on the front card – so clever! Noriko used the Ticks & Tacks Background to create a tone on tone background for her card stamping it with Blueberry ink on the same color of cardstock.
This fun little beer mug might look familiar and that’s because we are bringing it back from retirement! Use the Little Bits – Mug die to create a foamy beer (or root beer!) mug that will coordinate with the beer-themed items I shared with you above!
Heather Nichols filled up her card with frothy beer mugs that are die cut using the Little Bits – Mug die. The mugs are die cut from Honey cardstock that is stamped with the Ticks & Tacks Background stamp and Heather cut the foam out from Sugar Cube Cardstock that is coated with Sugar Cube glitter. The background of the card is also stamped with the Ticks & Tacks Background stamp and the sentiment is created with the On the Block – Dad stamp and sentiments from the Simple Strips – Man Myth Legend stamp.
There’s a bit of sweet and snarky in the new Dear Dad stamp and Perfect Parent 2 stamp set – that’s right we are bringing you the Dad versions of the ones we released for Mother’s Day in April! The Dear Dad stamp is sized to take up the majority of the card front and then choose from the ten sentiments (both snarky & sweet) from the Perfect Parent 2 stamp set for the inside (or front!) of your card.
Laurie Willison kept with the beer theme on this card featuring the Dear Dad stamp. She added the sentiment in Blueberry ink over the background that is stamped with the Ticks & Tacks Background stamp in Sea Salt ink. The ‘It takes a legend…’ sentiment from the Perfect Parent 2 stamp set pairs perfectly with the beer mug that Laurie stamped using the Hoppy Days Cling & Clear Combo set.
You can pair the Dear Dad stamp with so many different products in your collection and Arjita Sepaha Singh paired it with the Gus & Gertie Ride On stamp set on this Father’s Day card. Arjita colored Gus in his car with Copic Markers and set the car so it’s driving in from the side of the card – I like how Gertie is just peeking in on the edge! The ‘I hope this Father’s Day…’ sentiment from the Perfect Parent 2 stamp set is embossed in white on a Build a Scene – Rolling Hills die cut.
