It’s time to celebrate the red, white, & blue and Heather Nichols has a card to share in today’s video that is perfect for the occasion. Watch the video below to see how this card comes together from start to finish:
In the video, Heather shows how easy it is to create with the new Starstruck Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set. You can use the elements of the set all together to create the full multi-colored design or use the different parts on their own for your projects. Heather used everything from the set: she stamped the red rubber background, added stenciling with the two coordinating stencils, and added stamped stars with the clear stamps. She also used the coordinating Starstruck dies to step up her card design even more!
The bold star background is stamped on Toffee cardstock with Blue Corn ink and then Heather stamped it again on Sugar Cube cardstock so she could die cut the stars and pop them up for extra dimension. I also love the different blue tones that are the result of stamping on the different cardstock colors!
It’s so easy to add the stars and starbursts in the background using the coordinating stencils. Heather used her signature Sugar Cube ink to stencil the stars and then Toffee ink for the starbursts. The result after just the background stamp and stencils is a great look, but you can add even more pattern and color with the clear stamps. Heather stamped a few of the patterned stars with Cherry Pop ink on Sugar Cube cardstock, cut them out and added them into the centers of the larger stars.
To finish things off, Heather added a bunch of sparkle using silver glitter cardstock with the Starstruck die collection. There’s a die with a trio of little stars on it that makes the perfect star confetti. Heather added glittered stars into the smaller bold stars on the background and then scattered a bunch around the rest of the card design. The sentiment on the card is from the Mini Strips – Patriotic stamp on Cherry Pop cardstock with Sugar Cube ink.
Now that I’ve shared Heather’s project, it’s time to settle in and take a peek at all of the new 4th of July release products along with inspiration from the TE Creative Team!
We are starting off with the Starstruck products featured in our release promotion bundle that I shared about above:
We are excited to debut our first Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set! The new Starstruck Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set includes a red rubber background stamp with bold star outline images, two stencils to add bursts and scattered stars in the background, and clear stamps to add patterned stars and more into the design. Everything is designed to work all together, or you can mix and match the elements in the set too. Use the coordinating Starstruck die collection to cut out images in the set and extra stars for embellishing!
Emily Mydlowski used the Starstruck Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set on Blueberry cardstock and the results are stunning! She embossed the bold star background in white, added the stenciling with Sugar Cube ink, and then used the Starstruck die collection to fill in and/or frame the bold background stars. The sentiment is created with three of the sentiments from the Mini Strips – Patriotic stamp set and I love how she did them in red, white, and blue. This card is ready to celebrate!
While the Starstruck Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set is great for patriotic projects, it’s also perfect for other themes too. I love how Mindy Eggen used a rainbow of colors to create a birthday card with the set. She stamped the bold star background first in Sugar Cube ink on Toffee cardstock and then stamped it again, offset a bit from the first impression, inked up in multiple colors (mini ink cubes work great for this!) She stenciled just the scattered star stencil from the set for the background using Sugar Cube ink. The ‘happy birthday’ sentiment is from the Oh My Word – Happy Birthday stamp set (+ coordinating die) and is stamped in Oreo ink.
An iconic image for all things patriotic in the United States is Uncle Sam and we have featured him in our new Uncle Sam Cling & Clear Combo set. The set includes a red rubber background stamp featuring a pattern of Uncle Sam images and 19 clear, photopolymer stamps to add color/pattern to the images, coordinating sentiments, and more. You can cut out any of the Uncle Sam images from the background stamp using the Uncle Sam’s Head die. Use the Uncle Sam stencil to add a fun fireworks pattern in between the Uncle Sam images!
Heather Nichols created a cute patriotic card and tag set using the Uncle Sam products. She stamped the background stamp in Sugar Cube ink on Toffee cardstock (of course!) for the background on the card and tags and then added the fireworks with an embossing paste sprinkled with a little silver glitter. She added the colored Uncle Sam images to notched banners stamped with sentiments from the clear stamps in the Uncle Sam Cling & Clear Combo set. For extra sparkle, Heather sprinkled silver glitter stars around the sentiments that are cut out with the new Starstruck dies.
The Sketched Flag Background stamp will fill your A2 card front with a distressed United States flag image featuring the stars at the top, the stripes at the bottom, and a space in the middle designed for adding a sentiment. Use the background for celebrating the 4th of July, thanking a member of the military, honoring a veteran or hero, and more.
When you want to honor or thank a member of the military or other patriotic hero, use The Inside Scoop – Freedom stamp set. Part of our The Inside Scoop collection, this set includes a variety of sentiments that are as perfect to use on the inside of your cards as on the outside.
Laurie Willison created this beautiful card to honor a member of the military. She stamped the Sketched Flag Background using Cherry Pop and Blueberry inks and added the sentiment from The Inside Scoop – Freedom stamp set embossed in gold. The gold embossing really steps up the elegant and formal look of the card! I also love how she added stars throughout her design that are cut out with the Starstruck dies.
Noriko Fairchild gave her Starstruck dies a workout to create this card to honor a military hero. She cut out the stars from Sugar Cube, Cherry Pop, and Blue Corn cardstock and then cascaded them down the front of the card. She embossed the ‘Freedom…’ sentiment from The Inside Scoop – Freedom stamp set for the front of the card in white on a strip of vellum and then added the ‘We honor…’ sentiment on the inside of her card stamped with Blue Corn ink.
We’re adding to the On the Block collection with the new On the Block – Brave stamp and coordinating On the Block – Brave Shadow die. The sans-serif block letters slightly overlap and are not perfectly aligned, adding a whimsical charm to the word.
A perfect companion to the On the Block – Brave stamp is the new Building Blocks – Brave Additions stamp. This new Building Blocks stamp includes 22 words and phrases that work perfectly together to create sentiments for patriotic cards, tags, and more. Cut out all 22 words and phrases with one pass through your die cut machine using our innovative alignment guides and the coordinating Building Blocks die.
The On the Block – Brave stamp works wonderfully with the Sketched Flag Background like on this card by Melody Rupple. Melody added the ‘brave’ word to a layer of vellum so it would pop on the card, but still show the background design behind it. She added a few of the phrases from the Building Blocks – Brave Additions stamp embossed in white on Cherry Pop cardstock and cut out with the Building Blocks die. The stars sprinkled around the card are cut out with the Starstruck dies and stamped with the clear stamps from the Starstruck Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set.
The On the Block – Brave stamp is a great one to use for cards to send support for challenging times. Natasha Valkovskaya created a card featuring a lavender ribbon cut out using a die from the Choose Hope Stamp & Die Combo set. The lavender ribbon shows support for someone going through a cancer diagnosis and Natasha paired it with the Spring Spray stamp for the background of the card. To complete the ‘brave’ sentiment on her card, Natasha added a few of the words from the Building Blocks – Brave Additions stamp that are embossed in white on Oreo cardstock.
The Full Circle – Patriotic stamp set features a gathering of patriotic themed icons in a circular shape along with 6 coordinating sentiments. There are so many ways to use the circle image both as a feature and to add pattern to a shape or background on your patriotic cards!
The Superstar stencil is designed to create a multi-colored pattern with just one stencil! It is a rotating stencil that allows you to stencil one color, rotate 90 degrees stencil again, rotate 90 degrees stencil again, etc. until you have a multi-colored star pattern without any overlapping stars. Too cool! Create star backgrounds for your patriotic projects – and more!
Kavya used the circle image from the Full Circle – Patriotic stamp set to add an all over pattern to the Land of the Free die cut. She embossed the pattern in white and added extra shading around the edges of the die cut with her blender brushes. She set the die cut onto a background that is stenciled with the two stencils from the Starstruck Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set using Sugar Cube ink on Toffee cardstock. The red and white stars are cut out with the new Starstruck dies and the sentiment is from the Mini Strips – Patriotic stamp.
And finally for today is this fun and whimsical card created by Jill Hawkins! The background on the card is created with the new Superstar stencil using Cherry Pop, Pineapple (with a touch of Candy Corn), Cilantro, and Blueberry inks. For each color, Jill rotated the stencil 90 degrees and the result is a multi-colored background with no overlapping stars! The card features the skateboarding Gus from the Gus & Gertie Ride On stamp set and a few words and phrases from the new Building Blocks – Brave Additions stamp set.
