Background Stamping is a Breeze With NEW MISTI Tools & Accessories!
Hey, crafty friends! It’s Heather here today! What do you think of the new MISTI tools that we released this week in the TE webstore? I have a pretty good feeling that all of the products from this week’s release will have some definite longevity on my craft desk. Can I stamp without them? Yes, but to step up my stamping with tools like these that make my most valuable stamping tool, the MISTI, even more effective and easy to use? Yes, please! I will reach for them over and over again.
Today, I have a video to share from Mindy Eggen and she shares how to create a trio of cards using several of the new tools. Her cards feature the Create in Color Background stamp which is part of our promotion this week. Here are the promotion details so you can take advantage of the savings:
Right now through Sunday, August 1st, all background stamps are 15% off (excludes Stamp & Stencil Combos and Cling & Clear Combos). It’s the perfect time to add the background designs you have had your eye on to your own collection!

Watch the video below to see how Mindy Eggen created this trio of cards that are perfect for back to school and teacher thank you cards. Mindy uses several of the new MISTI tools to make her cards and she shares what she thinks of these new products:
In the video, Mindy creates three cards with the Create in Color Background stamp. She shows how to use the new MISTI Double-Sided Grid Paper, Pick Up Stickers, and Just Press Tool to stamp with the large background image. The images are colored with Copic markers, cut out with the coordinating die, and Mindy added them to the card fronts so that the die cut images are the front flap of the cards.
When coloring the pencil images with Copic markers, Mindy kept things simple. She colored the pencils in rainbow order and then added a line down one side of the pencil with a matching darker color – no special blending required! This technique is great for coloring on the go. Stamp a pile of images, gather your colors, and you are ready to go. Pack up your crafting supplies in one of our zippered pouches that are available in a rainbow set of 5 or individually in black.
On the previous card, Mindy did all of the pencils leads in one color and then on this card, she colored the leads to match the color on the outside of the pencil so they look like a set of colored pencils. The sentiment on the cards with the rainbow colored pencils are from the Full Circle – School stamp set and are embossed in white onto Oreo cardstock strips.
Can I pick favorites? If I can, then I pick this card where Mindy colored all of the pencils in yellow! The intention is to look like a line up of standard #2 pencils and then Mindy added the ‘thank you’ sentiment from the Oh My Word – Thank You stamp set (+ coordinating die) over the top of them. I love this for a teacher thank you card!
Check out the list below for the supplies that Mindy used on all three of her cards:
