Today’s featured project is from Emily Leiphart and she used the Gathered Stars die (this die was available to earn free last May) paired with the On the Block – Merry stamp to create this Christmas card. Watch the video below to see how easily this card comes together:
In the video, Emily shares a closer look at the Gathered Stars die. She cuts out the die from gold glitter cardstock twice and uses the die cuts as the background on a Christmas card. She adds the sentiment to the card with the On the Block – Merry stamp (+ coordinating die) and a sentiment strip from the Simple Strips – Christmas stamp that is embossed in gold on Oreo cardstock and cut out with the Simple Strips – Asymmetrical die.
How fun and sparkly is that background? Emily angled the two Gathered Stars die cuts onto a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock and adhered them in place with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue (you can use your favorite liquid glue to do this too). I love all of the sparkle from cutting out the Gathered Stars die from gold glitter cardstock!
The ‘merry’ is stamped with the On the Block – Merry stamp in Cherry Pop, Watermelon, and Mulled Wine inks and then cut out with the coordinating On the Block – Merry Shadow die. I really like how Emily centered the ‘merry’ stamped in Watermelon in the center of her card and then offset the other two “‘merry’ words going off the edges of the card. She added the sentiment strip under the ‘merry’ in the center of the card embossed in gold on Oreo cardstock and then added the panel to an Oreo card base.
This card design would be a great one to mass produce for the holidays! You could even create the design in different color themes – wouldn’t is be beautiful in different shades of green? Blue would be gorgeous too!
Check out the list below for all of the supplies that Emily used on her card:
Here’s a closer look at the previous TE Exclusives that are now available to purchase along with a few new coordaiting dies and inspiration from the TE Creative Team:
First up is the Hi, Hey, Hello Background stamp that was originally an exclusive set in January. This cute background fills up your vertical A2 card front and is filled with telephone images and greetings to send a ‘hi’, ‘hello’, and ‘hey’ to your favorite people. We are also excited to share the new Off the Hook die collection that you can use to create a telephone that coordinates perfectly with the Hi, Hey, Hello Background stamp.
The 80s called on this bright neon card by Jill Hawkins created with the Hi, Hey, Hello Background stamp and Off the Hook dies! Jill stamped the Hi, Hey, Hello Background stamp on the bottom half of her card background using Earl Gray ink and added the brightly color telephones cut from Lollipop, Cookie Monster, and Lemon Meringue cardstock over the top. The sentiments are from the Simple Strips – Snarky stamp, are embossed in white on Oreo cardstock, and cut out with the Simple Strips die.
In February the exclusive set that you could earn was the Bursting Blooms stamp set. This beautiful set features a branch full of springtime blossoms along with four sentiments to send a heartfelt message to a loved one. We are excited to also now offer the coordinating Bursting Blooms die to cut out the branch of blossoms image.
Jen Shults colored the blossoms from the Bursting Blossoms stamp set with Copic markers and cut them out with the new coordinating die. She set the colored blooms onto a Toffee card base that is stamped with more blossoms using Toffee ink for a tone on tone look. The heartfelt sentiment stamped on the tiny tag is added onto burlap twine that is tied around the top of the card (learn more about both the sentiment and tag below). I love that she added just a touch of sparkle with a few Bits & Pieces – Iridescent Rhinestones around the flowers.
If you love teeny sentiments, I know you had your eye on the Clearly Crafty Itty Bitty Sentiments stamp set that was the exclusive in March. This set includes 35 tiny words and sentiments that cover just about every occasion you can think of along with a few images that you can use to accent the sentiments, add borders, or create patterns with. The tiny sentiments are perfect for adding onto tiny tags and we are releasing two tag die collections that coordinate with them: Itty Bitty Tags 1 and Itty Bitty Tags 2!
Noriko Fairchild stamped the ‘thank you’ sentiment from the Itty Bitty Sentiments stamp set onto a tiny tag from the Itty Bitty Tags 1 die collection and threaded it onto a piece of twine to add onto a set of cards. The card front is a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock embossed with the Weathered embossing folder on a Toffee card base. This would be a great idea to give as a gift, packaging the cards with tags stamped with different sentiments that can be chosen from to add to the cards for different occasions!
We were thinking about spring for the April exclusive which was the Mixed Blooms Layered Stencil set. The set includes three stencils to create an all-over multicolored floral design. One stencil adds the leaves and the other two add different flower designs. The new Mixed Blooms die collection cuts out two coordinating flower shapes and two leave shapes that are a larger version of the flowers and leaves in the Mixed Blooms Layered Stencil set.
While the Mixed Blooms Layered Stencil set originally debuted as an exclusive for springtime in April, Melody Rupple used a richer color palette to create a card for fall! Melody stenciled the leaves with leaves with Sweet Basil ink and added the florals with Cherry Pop and Pineapple inks on Toffee cardstock. The ‘happy fall y’all’ sentiment is from the Handlettered Thanksgiving stamp set and is embossed in gold. The pretty felt flowers surrounding the sentiment are cut out using the Mixed Blooms dies with Bits & Pieces – Gold Drip Drops for the centers.
Star images are something that can be used for a wide variety of occasions: birthdays, graduations, new baby, and a whole bunch of other celebrations. The Gathered Stars die (that was an exclusive in May) is perfect to use for any of those occasions and more! The die features a gathering of outline and small solid stars that you can use both for a feature on your project or as a background like Emily did on her project in the video above. You can also use the pieces that fall out of the star centers on your projects too – they are perfect for shaker cards!
Mindy Eggen created a colorful cluster of stars for her project created with the Gathered Stars die. She blended the colors onto a piece of Sugar Cube Cardstock with her Blender Brushes and cut out the stars from that. She added the stars onto a Sugar Cube card base along with a sentiment from the Simple Strips – Crafty stamp that is embossed in white on an Oreo cardstock strip.
The final exclusive product we are releasing for sale today is the Summer Vibes Background from June. This background stamp fills up your vertical A2 card front with all sorts of fun summer themed icons like palm trees, seashells, and sunglasses. Stamp the background and color all of the images for a colorful look or stamp it in tone of tone (same color ink and cardstock) or neutral colors for a great summer card background.
These cute cats from the Cattitude stamp set are ready for summer fun on this card by Arjita Sepaha Singh. Arjita colored the cats with Copic markers and added them to a Toffee card base that is stamped with the Summer Vibes Background stamp using Sugar Cube ink. The neutral background allows the cats to take center stage along with the ‘it’s your day’ sentiment from the Itty Bitty Sentiments stamp set.
