Hoot Hoot Hooray! Here’s More Fall Inspiration With the NEW Products!
Hey, crafty friends! It’s Heather here today bringing you more fall project inspiration using the new products that we released earlier this week. Did any of the products catch your eye? One of my favorites is the new Fineline Leaf Background stamp. I am all about everything with a nature theme and I love the simple leaf illustration that makes up the background pattern. You can keep it subtle with tone on tone looks for backgrounds, use lots of color, or give the stamp an elegant look by embossing it in a metallic tone. I think this is one that will stay on my desk so it’s easy to grab for my next crafty project!
Now, keep scrolling for today’s inspiration, including a video from me using the new What a Hoot products, that I designed, along with more projects from the TE Creative Team. Don’t forget to check out the information at the bottom of this post about the live happening this morning announcing our birthday celebration festivities! Hoot hoot hooray! It’s time to get the inspiration going! For today’s video, I used the new What a Hoot products to create a card and pair of tags. Watch below to see how I created them from start to finish:
In the video, I share how to stamp the owl images using the What a Hoot Cling & Clear Combo set by stamping the background image and then adding color and tummy patterns using the clear stamps. I create two stamped panels: one I added stenciled leaves around the owls with the coordinating What a Hoot stencil and the other I cut out the individual owls with the What a Hoot die. The Fineline Leaf Background is stamped onto Toffee cardstock with Toffee ink, cut out with the Stitched Banner Stacklets dies, and I stamped sentiments onto them with Chocolate Truffle ink. I added owls to the banners sitting on a branch cut out with the Notecard Accessories die collection. One banner is added to the card and the other banners become tags by punching a hole on one end and adding burlap twine.

I used a pretty fall palette of colors for my owls: Sweet Potato Pie, Honey, Avocado, and Toffee. I stamped the colors randomly on the owls and then added the wings using the same colors, but paired with different colors on the owls. My favorite part about this set is the cute patterns to add to the owl tummies! It was fun to pick and chose which patterns I stamped on each of the owls using Chocolate Truffle ink. The leaves stenciled between the owls is done with Avocado ink using a light hand – a challenge for me because I tend to be pretty heavy handed when I blend!

There are a bunch of fun sentiments in the What a Hoot Cling & Clear Combo set and I stamped several of them on banners that are cut out with a Stitched Banner Stacklets die. To add extra texture, the Toffee cardstock is stamped with the Fineline Leaf Background using Toffee ink. The banners are perfect to use as tags or to add to a card.
Check out the list below for all of the products from the TE webstore that I used on my card and tags:

Here’s more inspiration from the TE Creative Team to share featuring the new fall products that we released for purchase this week:

Here’s a card by Emily Mydlowski using the new What a Hoot Cling & Clear Combo set. She used a palette of bright pastel colors for this birthday card to color in the owls and then added glittery leaves in between them with the What a Hoot stencil, Glitter Grab, and Lollipop glitter. The ‘happy birthday’ sentiment is stamped using the Oh My Word – Happy Birthday stamp set and Emily added the ‘hoot hoot hooray’ sentiment embossed in white on an Oreo cardstock strip underneath it.

Kavya had fun playing with watercolor for this thanks card that she created with the Fineline Leaf Background stamp. She painted a colorful background with watercolor paints and then embossed the background over the top in white. The sentiment is die cut with the Signature Thanks die from white glitter cardstock and layered onto the Signature Thanks Backer die cut from vellum. The ‘you’re the coolest’ sentiment from the Mini Strips – Hello Summer stamp is embossed in white on Lime Zest cardstock. I love the Bits & Pieces – White Rhinestones that Kavya added for extra sparkle & texture!

This colorful line up of leaves was created by Noriko Fairchild using the Autumn Blessings stamp set (+ coordinating dies) and Swirls Pierce & Cut Plate die. Noriko stamped the leaves in Mulled Wine, Sweet Potato Pie, Pineapple, Avocado, and Chocolate Truffle inks. She then swiped the colors across the Swirls Pierce & Cut Plate die cut using mini ink cubes and added light ink blending with her Blender Brushes to create the card background. The ‘happy fall’ sentiment is embossed in white on a Chocolate Truffle cardstock strip and Noriko finished off the card with plenty of Bits & Pieces – Gold Drip Drops.

Mindy Eggen created a card to send her thanks featuring the bouquet from the Autumn Array Stamp & Stencil Combo set. I love her unexpected color combination that includes the blue roses, yellow sunflowers, and tiny Toffee blossoms. The Signature Thanks die cut from gold foil cardstock is paired with one of the sentiments from The Inside Scoop – Thanks stamps to complete the card. The sentiments from the set were designed to work well for the inside of your card, but you can use them on the front of your card too!
