Extra Inspiration With Our NEW Colors!
Hey, crafty friends! It’s Heather here today with more color inspiration to share using the new cardstock and ink colors that we released this week! Which of the 7 new colors speaks to you the most? I am particularly fond of Macaron and Dried Fig myself (that lovely blurple!), although I do love all of the new colors and how they fit into the TE rainbow! I had a great time crafting with the new colors and can’t wait to create more with them on future projects! Today on the blog I have more new color inspiration to share with you from the TE Creative Team and a video from Emily Leiphart.

Today’s video is from Emily Leiphart and she used a few of the new colors with the Create-in-Quads Hexagon Layering Stencil set to create a set of cards. Watch the video below:
In the video, Emily shows a closer look at the new ink and cardstock colors and shows how she swatches the ink colors to reference them for projects. Emily created card backgrounds using the Create-in-Quads Hexagon Layering Stencil set with several of our new ink colors: Rose Water, Macaron, Passion Fruit, and Tropical Punch. Then, she takes the background panels and creates four different cards.
Here’s a closer look at the four different cards that Emily created:
This card is perfect to give to Dad for Father’s Day – or just because! The sentiment is put together with the On the Block – Love stamp (+ coordinating die), On the Block – Dad (+ coordinating die), and Building Blocks – Love Additions. I love the peek of silver sparkle that Emily added under the larger words with silver glitter cardstock!
On this card, Emily impressed the background with the Rays Pierce & Cut Plate. The sentiment is from the Oh My Word – Happy Birthday stamp set (+ coordinating die) and is embossed with a silver sparkle embossing powder from Emily’s own stash. The finishing touch is a few Bits & Pieces – Silver Drip Drops.
The sentiment on this card is put together with the On the Block – Cool stamp (+ coordinating die) and a sentiment from the Building Blocks – Cool Additions stamp. For a touch of extra sparkle on this card, Emily added hexagons cut out from silver glitter cardstock with the Happy Hex dies to a few of the stenciled hexagons in the background.
This last card is another one that would work great for Father’s Day. The sentiment features the On the Block – Dad stamp (+ coordinating die), this time embossed with a layer of Diamond embossing powder for extra sparkle and shine. The sentiment strips above and below the ‘Dad’ word are from the Mini Strips – You’re the Best stamp and are cut out with the Mini Strips – Flags die.
Check out the list below for all of the supplies that Emily used on her set of cards:
Here are a few more projects from a few of our TE Creative Team members that were created with the new colors:
Jill Hawkins created the sweetest line up of mushrooms on this card with the Layer It – Toadstools die collection. She cut out the mushrooms from Oyster, Pineapple, Poblano Pepper, Plum Punch, and Macaron cardstock. I love how she added one dot of a different cardstock color to each mushroom cap! The background behind the mushrooms is impressed with the Cloudy Skies Piercing Plate and the ground is cut out with a die from the Build a Scene – Heart Fence & Hill die collection. The ‘whatcha been up to?’ sentiment is from the Just Saying stamp set and is stamped with Oreo ink.
Melody Rupple put together an adorable baby card using a few of the new cardstock colors paired with some of the new baby products that we released recently. The carriage is cut out from Passion Fruit and Oyster cardstock with the Baby Carriage die collection. I love the touches of silver that Melody added to the carriage legs and wheels. The background is impressed with the Stitched With Love Cutting Plate die and has a piece of silver foil cardstock behind it that shows through the heart openings for even more shimmer and shine!
Emily Mydlowski paired several of the new colors with gold on this thank you card! The background of the card is created with the Best Buds Stamp & Stencil Combo set. Emily embossed the stamped image in gold and stenciled the flowers with Passion Fruit, Dried Fig, Macaron, and Rose Water inks. For the sentiment, the Signature Thanks die is cut out from gold foil cardstock and layered onto a piece of vellum cut out with the Signature Thanks Backer die. A few Bits & Pieces – Gold Drip Drops are the finishing touch on this card!
I love how Jen Shults incorporated several of the new cardstock colors with previously released colors to create a rainbow striped background on this card! The rainbow stripes are cut out with the Easy Strips – 1/4″ die from Pumpkin, Dried Fig, Tropical Punch, Pineapple, Guava, and Passion Fruit. Jen layered the strips together over a background that is embossed with the Rainbows All Around stamp in white on Sugar Cube cardstock. The ‘thank you’ sentiment is from the Oh My Word – Thank You stamp set and Jen sprinkled a few white Tiny Diamonds across the card for a finishing touch.
