Today’s video is from Joy Baldwin and she is sharing a pair of cards created with the new Foil It – Balloon Party panels. Watch how these two cards come together from start to finish in the video below:
In the video, Joy foils the two designs from the Foil It – Balloon Party pack with Silver Stars Deco Foil using her Minc machine (a heat laminator will also work to foil). Color is added to the foiled panels using the stencils from the Balloon Party Stencil & Clear Combo set and Joy added stamped details with the clear stamps to the panel with just the balloon outline design. The sentiments on both cards were created with the On the Block – Happy stamp (+ coordinating On the Block – Happy Shadow die) and On Repeat – Birthday stamp (+ coordinating On Repeat die).
Here’s a closer look at the cards that Joy created in the video:
This first card features the solid balloon design and I just love how that Silver Stars Deco Foil looks on this panel! Joy used the stencils to add color to the open balloons with Tropical Punch and Passion Fruit inks and used the same ink colors to stamp the ‘happy’ word with a gradient effect.
Using the Foil it panels that have coordinating stencils and/or stamps to add color is perfect for mass producing cards. Foil your panels, add color, add a sentiment, and you are on your way to creating a pile of cards in no time!
Joy used the outline balloon design for this card, adding color with the stencils using Banana Cream Pie, Spearmint, and Peapod inks. The touch of sparkle on the outlines really steps up the look of the card! The tiny words and stars on the balloons are added with the clear stamps using Oreo ink and the ‘happy’ word is stamped with Banana Cream Pie ink.
Check out the list below for all of the supplies that Joy used on her cards:
Here’s more inspiration from the TE Creative Team using the new Foil It panels from this week’s release:
Emily Mydlowski created this pair of cards using the Foil It – Branches & Blooms panels. She foiled one of the panels using the Amethyst Watercolor Deco Foil and then applied the leftover foil that has the reverse image to a piece of cardstock covered with a sticky sheet. The card on the right features both foiled pieces framing the Framed Script – Hello die cut. Both pieces are cut out with the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets die collection. Then Emily used the frame that was left over for the card on the left, layering it over a background impressed with the Diamonds Piercing Plate. The ‘thinking of you’ sentiment is from Foil It – On Occasion and is foiled with Lilac Deco Foil.
This birthday card was created by me (Heather Nichols) with the Foil It – Gathered Greenery panels. I foiled one panel with Copper Deco Foil and another with Amber Watercolor Deco Foil. The panel with Amber Watercolor Deco Foil is also ink blended with Toffee ink. The panels are layered together for the card background and I added the ‘happy birthday’ sentiment from Foil It – On Occasion that is foiled in silver over a Branch Out die cut and strips of Toffee cardstock stamped with the Wood Plank Background stamp.
I love the unexpected foil color on this card by Melody Rupple using the Foil It – Mini Slim Spring Spray panels! The panel is foiled with Deep Blue Deco Foil and then colored with Copic markers. The ‘oh happy day’ sentiment is from the Foil It – It’s your Day pack and is also foiled in the deep blue color. Melody carried the blue color throughout the card design by adding an additional Blueberry cardstock die cut peeking out from under the sentiment and layering the foiled panel onto a Blueberry Mini Slim card base.
This pretty floral card was created by Kavya by pairing a Foil It – Wildflower panel with the Heart of Hearts Layering Stencil set. The Foil It – Wildflower panel is foiled with Opal Deco Foil and then Kavya layered the stenciled hearts over the top with Lollipop and Candy Corn inks. She also added details to some of the flowers using Copic markers and a white gel pen. The ‘hello friend.’ sentiment is foiled with Silver Stars Deco Foil and paired with the ‘happy birthday’ sentiment from the Foil It – Group Text Occasions pack.
Jill Hawkins created a birthday card featuring bright stripes and shine with the Foil It – Mini Slim Botanical panels. The botanical frame is foiled with Denim Deco Foil and cut out with the coordinating Mini Slim Botanical die. The ‘birthday greetings’ sentiment from the Mini Slim Botanical Sentiments stamp set is embossed in silver on vellum and added into the foiled frame opening. Jill set the frame over a background created with the Easy Strips – 1/2″ and Easy Strips 1/4″ dies cut out from Guava, Cupcake, and Sugar Cube cardstock.
This stunning card by Jen Shults is created with a Foil it – Diamond Botanical panel. Jen foiled the panel with Gold Deco Foil and colored the foliage around the frame with Copic markers. The purple background on the card is colored with combination of Copic markers and Plum Punch ink – the color really sets off the design! The ‘get well soon’ sentiment from the On Occasion stamp set is embossed in gold on Poblano Pepper cardstock. Bits & Pieces – Gold Drip Drops are the perfect finishing touch!
Lori Craig used took a Foil It – The Right Angle panel and transformed it into a stained glass window for this sympathy card! The panel is foiled with Gold Deco Foil and Lori added color to the design using The Right Angle Layering Stencil set with Candy Corn, Lollipop, and Pineapple inks. The window is added to a background embossed with the Floral Vine embossing folder along with the ‘with sympathy’ sentiment from the Mini Slim Botanical Sentiments stamp set and a few Subtle Sprigs die cuts.
