Today’s video from Joy Baldwin showcases three cards for fall made with our mosaic style leaf die collections that debuted this week. Watch the video below to see how the leaves were created and incorporated into each card design:
In the video, Joy creates colorful fall leaves with the Mosaic Beech Leaf, Mosaic Maple Leaf, and Mosaic Oak Leaf die collections. She cut out the solid leaf shapes and added a variety of autumnal ink colors to them with her Bitty Blender Brushes. The leaf detail layer for all of the leaves are cut from Sugar Cube cardstock and layered over the tops of the solid leaves. Backgrounds for each of the cards are created using a variety of stencils with Poblano Pepper ink: Masking Stencils – Diamonds, Masking Stencils – Hexagons, and 1/2″ Stripe Stencil set. Each card features a sentiment from the Grateful Greetings stamp set that is embossed in gold and cut out with the coordinating dies along with a few Bits & Pieces – White Rhinestones for a finishing touch.
Here’s a closer look at the cards that Joy created:
This first card shows off the Mosaic Maple Leaf die collection. Joy added the leaf, popped up with foam sticky circles, over the background stenciled with the 1/2″ Stripe Stencil set along with the ‘with gratitude’ sentiment.
I love the dimension that Joy created on this card with the leaves that are put together with the Mosaic Oak Leaf dies. She adhered two of the leaves, overlapping each other, directly to the background (stenciled with the Masking Stencils – Hexagons set) and then popped the final leaf up with foam adhesive.
This last card features leaves cut out with the Mosaic Beech Leaf die collection. Joy added the leaves along the side of the diamond stenciled with the Masking Stencils – Diamonds set. The double leaves are popped up with foam adhesive and the singles leaves are adhered directly to the background for a great dimensional effect.
The list below includes all of the supplies that Joy used on her cards:
Here are a few more projects from the TE Creative Team created with products from the Autumn release:
Jen Shults featured a maple leaf created with the Mosaic Maple Leaf die collection on this card for fall. The detail layer is die cut from Avocado cardstock and layered over the solid leaf cut from Sugar Cube cardstock. The background on Jen’s card features Honey ink blending coming down from the top of the card with detailed leaves cut from Honey cardstock using the Mosaic Oak Leaf and Mosaic Beech Leaf dies layered over the top. The ‘grateful for you’ sentiment from the Grateful Greetings stamp set is embossed in gold on Mocha cardstock and cut out with the coordinating dies.
This clean a simple design using the Peace & Hope Stamp & Die Combo set by Jill Hawkins is beautiful for a sympathy card. Jill created an ombre background on Salt Water Taffy cardstock using a number of teal inks and added the ginkgo leaves that are embossed in white on Pineapple cardstock over the top – I love how she added her signature stitching to the stems on the leaves! The ‘with sympathy’ sentiment is also embossed in white and the finishing touch is a few Bits & Pieces – Clear Drip Drops scattered around the leaves.
Here’s another sympathy card created with the ginkgo leaves by Melody Rupple. Melody embossed the Ginkgo Background stamp in gold on Spearmint cardstock and added ink blending with Poblano Pepper ink. The ‘with sympathy’ sentiment is added to the card on a Stitched Oval Stacklets die cut along with a few single ginkgo leaves from the Peace & Hope Stamp & Die Combo set. A few Bits & Pieces – Gold Drip Drops complete the elegant look!
Lori Craig is sending her gratitude with this colorful fall card! She foiled a Foil It – Four Seasons panel with Silver Deco Foil and added color to the leaves, flowers, and other details using the stencils from the Four Seasons Stamp & Stencil Combo set. The silver foiled ‘with gratitude’ sentiment from the Foil It – Grateful Greetings pack coordinates perfectly, is cut out with the Grateful Greetings die collection, and is added to the card on a vellum circle. Make sure to check out Lori’s blog to see another color combination that she used with the Four Seasons products!
Gus & Gertie are picking apples on this sweet card by Jen Shults created with the Gus & Gertie Autumn Adventures stamp set. The images are colored with Copic markers and added to a simple ink blended background with Cookie Monster ink for the sky and Peapod ink for the grass. The sentiment stamped in Oreo ink and a bit of burlap twine complete the clean and simple design!
Emily Mydlowski created a trio of cards with the critters from the Woodland Squad Die & Clear Combo set. Each critter was cut out from Sugar Cube and Buttercream cardstock and then Emily added color to the different die cut pieces with her Bitty Blender Brushes and a variety of ink colors. She paired the fox with a background created with the Four Seasons Stamp & Stencil Combo set, the moose is paired with the Buffalo Plaid Background stamp, and the deer is paired with a Foil It – Diamond Botanical panel. The sentiments strips on the cards are from the Mini Strips – Harvest and Simple Strips – Christmas stamps.
