It’s Official… I’m buried.
It was bound to happen sooner or later. *rolleyes* You know that mechanism that most people have that tells them “OK… you have enough on your plate, you need to start saying no to some things.”?? Well… I don’t have that mechanism! The things that I want to say no to I can’t (like working full-time). And the things I need to say no to I don’t want to because it’s what I really enjoy (like card stuff: submitting to publications, custom card orders, craft fairs, updating my blog, etc.). The good thing about being buried is that I always seem to dig myself out. Once I get the custom card orders out the door next week Wednesday I will be able to go back to my normal state of busyness. But until then, you’ll probably be seeing a lot of me practicing my simplicity skills and maybe even skipping a day of updating my blog… *gasp*. Last night was my first lesson in simplicity and I’m finding it incredibly difficult! This card is made from the Cowgirl Collection of Crate Papers. An extra little tidbit of information about Crate Paper… the company is unveiling a line of purses (real purses… not alterable or paper purses) that coordinate with the beautiful designs of their patterned paper. Check out their website www.cratepaper.com. I’m gonna be the first in line to snatch one these! I cut three pieces from the coordinating Cowgirl papers and faux stitched them together. The card base is So Saffron which I distressed with my Tim Holtz Tonic paper distresser. I sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa ink. The Thanks tag from the Cowgirl tag sheet is matted onto So Saffron, distressed, sponged, and adhered with dimensionals . And I couldn’t resist adding the little bow and rhinestones, but I still think it qualifies as simple even with those little extras. Oh… and guess what tomorrow is!? FRIDAY!! Stay tuned for Happy Cupcake Day!
