Dancing Santas
Tomorrow is the big day… craft show day! Thank you so much for all the suggestions and encouragement. I will be sure to take lots of pics to show you on Monday! I have been working on so many project type items that it has been a while since I’ve made a card. So last night after I just couldn’t handle working on another project, I decided to make a card. I borrowed the Holiday Tag Team set from my friend Sam a while ago and I just can’t bear to give it back. I love this little santa and the snowman in that set is super cute too! I stamped the Santa’s across Whisper White paper, colored them with Prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol and a stump. I used paper piecings to make the trim on each Santa outfit. The belt buckle is colored in with gold paint pen. The beard and mustache have white liquid applique on them and the ball of Santa’s hat is graced with a Swarovski crystal that I got from StarLitStudio. Santa looks like he’s dancing so I added the ground (which you can see better IRL) with grey watercolor crayon. And I topped off the image with a sketched frame. The focal image is mounted on real red and I added some stitching and distressing. The Old Olive card base is stamped with the Aida Cloth background and the Merry Christmas sentiment is from the Many Merry Messages set. Yesterday Julie mentioned on her blog that polka dots were on the way out. *gasp* But just like she said… I don’t care either! I’m gonna keep right on using them and I thought this sheer polka dotted ribbon was the perfect touch! 🙂 Thanks for looking! I think that’s about it! Please keep in mind when you look at the above prices that the show I am participating in is commissioned and they will be taking 20% of everything I sell. I really hate sharing prices for fear of what you guys will think… maybe that I’m overcharging. It’s so hard to price handmade items because so often they’re worth so much more to the hands that made them! KWIM?
