Whew….. It’s DONE!!
*insert sleepy face…rubs eyes* I am sooooooo tired! After the craft show yesterday I came home and my wonderful hubby graciously unloaded the car, listened to me yap about the day, and then treated me to my most favorite thing… a spuderito from Rick’s Burgers. You’re probably asking *what* is a spuderito!? It’s a tortilla filled with french fries, burrito sauce, and cheese….can you say YUM!? It is soooo good and just what I needed after a long day at the craft show. Shortly after my belly was full and I got a foot rub, I fell asleep on the couch at about 8:30. So anyway, now to the details you’ve all been waiting for…. the craft show! It went REALLY well! I made some great contacts, sold a TON of stuff, and I even got invited to do another show for the same charity league in February!! The pic on the left is me and my mom before we left for the craft show. I ended up changing my shirt because it was pretty hot out yesterday in Southern California. So I’m sure you want all the dirt. LOL! First off, I’ve had several emails from people inquiring about purchasing leftovers. I do have some leftovers so please email me privately. I took several pictures of display, but I did not get a good pic of the entirety. I had two eight foot tables near the back of the cobblestone courtyard underneath a wooden overhang with vines growing up the back wall and over the top. There were lots of fountains in the backyard as well… very pretty. So, you’ll have to use your imagination for that part. The picture on the right shows the little area I set up to show people what types of things I offer as custom design work… wedding invites, frames and other home decor, Z Becky purse, personalized/monogrammed journals, a premade baby scrapbook (just insert pictures), etc. This area was really a hit and I got a lot of orders on the spot and several people who took a business card and will hopefully contact me soon about a custom order. The next pic is of my display of body washes. I used the Prima daisy rack to display them. The scents were named after flavors of smoothies and ice cream sundaes so that’s why I used the ice cream sundae stamp for the tag. These were a big hit and most people talked of using them as little Christmas gifts. This next pic is a variety of things. The New Mommy Survival Kit is over on the left of the pic and it was my first item to sell! It’s not very often that your first item that sells is also the most expensive item! So woohoo for that! The card tins did not sell very well as most people wanted to be able to put their big (ugly) Hallmark cards in them. 😉 I had to be honest and tell them that they wouldn’t fit. Also pictured are some decorated jar candles, kids card kits, and small candle tins. On the left is my display idea for the beaded pens. I used two glass jars and some little bead/marble type things inside. They hold the pens nicely and show them off well. The beaded pens were a big hit with the kids who attended the show! And of course when they wanted to buy one, they dragged mom over to the table… bonus!! I also took a picture of my spinner display. Most of the cards fit in the spinner, but there were several in baskets on the table as well. To my surprise, people were not attracted to the spinner as much as I thought they would be. My mom and I ended up pointing it out to many of them as they searched through the baskets of cards on the table. Maybe it was the placement of it… I’m not giving up on it yet, I will experiment with it again. That’s about it for pictures. I did realize that I need to raise my prices (at least for this show)! There was another person there with only about 25 cards and she had them priced $4.00 each. Another vendor had similar tumbled tile coaster sets to mine. I was selling mine in a set of 4 for $15 and hers were 4 for $48!! *insert shocked face* My bestsellers were the Altoid Tag Tins, Snowman Poop, body wash, individual cards, and baby items. I hope this has helped many of you out for your future craft shows! Thank you all for your emails of encouragement and support and a special thanks to my friends Sam, Jami, Whitney, Michelle, and Heidi who came to support me on the day of the show. And the biggest thank you goes out to my wonderful mother who gave me all this creative ability and now so graciously helps me prepare and work these shows. Love you guys! 🙂
