HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Just wanted to share a few pictures from the Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA. Jon and I live 2 blocks from the parade route so we got up about 7:00 a.m. and walked over to the parade around 8 a.m. We got a great spot! People started lining the streets yesterday afternoon at 3 and stayed through the night. They had wood-burning stoves lining the parade route in order to stay warm. Crazy people! You gotta camp out to get the front row seats, but it’s just not that important to me to freeze my butt off and sleep on the sidewalk! LOL! Jon and I are off to the Rose Bowl football game to watch USC vs. Michigan. We’re gonna catch a little tailgate party before the game and I can’t wait for a stadium hot dog! 🙂 I’ll share more pics when we get back! Hope you’re all having a wonderful New Year’s Day!

    Thanks for sharing your pics Taylor. I had a chance to attend the parade years ago when I lived in Pasadena. Isn’t it wonderful? Hope you and your honey had a great time at the game and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

    Dh and I both went to UCLA and get down to the Rose Bowl frequently for games–it’s absolutely the best spot to tailgate!!!! I’m sad to say that I still have never gone and seen the parade live but one day we will.

    What great photos and the weather looked fantastic too. USC really beat up my alma mater (U of M) but I’ll bet the game was a lot of fun!!

    I’ve wanted to go to the Rose Parade my entire life….but no one wants to sleep on the street with me. 🙁 -Someday I’ll finally wear them down enough and they’ll do it with me!

    Great pictures Taylor! I am envious…all of our years in SoCal we only went to the parade once. We were able to get tickets to the brunch at the Marine Corps recruiting office where the parade ends, but at least we were there in person! A great event, and a beautiful day! Thanks for sharing them with us.

    That pic of the stormtroppers is awesome and I love the one of the Marines looking all sharp. Must have been really cool in person. Thanks for sharing! All I have done all day is sit in the living room with a sick baby, so seeing your pictures was neat! There is a world out there beyond my couch after all! Hee hee.

    Awesome pics Taylor. Thanks so much for posting them. You said people had stoves to keep themselves warm overnight? How cold could it have been in Pasadena??? lol. Just jealous of warmer weather than in St. Louis…burr.
