Find Joy
This was the first card I made with the new set Polka Dots & Paisley that demonstrators received from Stampin’ Up as a Christmas gift. I’m lovin’ it!! It’s a pretty quick and easy card so I won’t go into too much detail. I’m planning to do a variation of this card for my upcoming stamp camp. I’ll be using a different set though because this one isn’t available yet. I got the felt ric-rac at Walmart and I hand-drew the leaves on the flower stems. To my friend Joy… if you’re out there… I’ll be sending this card your way soon! *wink, wink*
On another note, I was taking a picture in my new photo studio in a box last night and thought I’d let you all in on a little discovery. I did read the directions before I started, which mentioned you should turn the high-powered lighting off immediately after you’re done taking the picture. This little detail escaped my mind as I was so excited to get the picture onto my computer and play around with it. So I left the lights on for approximately 30 minutes before the smell of something burning began wafting into my nostrils. For the longest time I wandered around, went outside, and couldn’t figure out what was stinking. I glanced over at my lightbox and the lightbulb in my head went off… “Oh yeah… I was supposed to shut that off about 40 minutes ago!” So I immediately unplugged the lighting and made sure nothing was burning. Thankfully, I hadn’t started a fire, but it sure smelled like it! I sprayed air freshener and opened all the doors and it still took a good half hour before the burning smell was gone. So… lesson learned… don’t leave those lights on!! 🙂
