BBQ Invitation
My husband is graduating from Fuller Seminary with his Masters degree on June 9th! This is definitely reason to celebrate… I’m so proud of him! I’m planning a BBQ with hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, a watermelon boat, relish tray, and rootbeer floats (my hubby’s favorite!). His parents will be traveling from Iowa for the ceremony, my parents and sisters will be here as well, along with some friends from campus. I sat down last night hoping to come up with a quick and easy invitation so I could get them sent out today. However, it seems I’ve found a major flaw in my massive collection of stamps because I had NO barbeque themed stamps to work with! I contemplated running to the LSS to find some cute BBQ stamps, but scrapped that idea. I’ve gotten into a bad habit of doing that! So I grabbed my red cardstock, folded it in half, and cut the apron out. There’s probably a template around for this shape, but I just cut it out by hand. I used my 1/2″ square punch to create the checkered border along the bottom. The letters are cut out using my Cuttlebug Hippie Chick alpha. The You’re Invited sentiment is from the Paper Salon Tailored Tin – Invitation Builder. I also used the stamp from the same set on the inside for date, time, place, etc. I attached silver brads with my Crop-o-Dile and threaded the polka dot ribbon through. The ribbon is from StarLitStudio. I sponged around the apron with Real Red ink as well… it seemed to add the one extra touch it needed. Hope you all have a great day!
