A nice surprise…
I got this nice little surprise in my mailbox yesterday… a complimentary copy of Take Ten! One of my cards even made it on the cover (the one on the left in the middle)! 🙂 I have a Marker Misting technique showcase on page 118-119 and I have a few other cards scattered throughout the magazine as well. It’s fun to flip through the pages and see so many familiar names. I found cards made by Julie Ebersole, Michelle Giraud, Sharon Johnson, Pam Hooten, Candy Williams, Kim Vandersanden, Debbie Olson, and Emily & Nicky (the bellas!)! Awesome stuff, girls!
I had a class last night and I am soooo tired today! I love teaching classes, but they are exhausting! The group of ladies I had last night are always so much fun and time really flies by! This is another one of the cards we made at class (I shared a couple other things earlier this week). I think this technique was the biggest hit of all the techniques I showed! They loved the crayon resist and how easy it was to get such beautiful results. For this card we stamped Bud Basics in black on white glossy paper. Then we used a crayon to accent the flowers in the center and around the outside. When I do crayon resist I prefer to use a light crayon (like yellow) so I can see where I’ve colored, as opposed to a white crayon where it’s hard to see where you’ve been. The yellow crayon wipes off just the same and doesn’t leave any staining on the glossy paper. After accenting with crayon we brayered over the top with Regal Rose ink and then wiped the crayon off with paper towel. We used the Stamp-a-majig to line up our sentiment (another great tool to demonstrate!) and popped up the flower with a rhinestone brad in the center. Thanks for stopping by today! If anybody wants to come over this weekend and help us pack, you’re more than welcome! *wink* Hope you all have a great weekend!
