Happy Friday and Happy Cupcake Day! Can you believe that there’s no cupcake among all these delectable treats? When I bought this Whipper Snapper image I distinctly remember thinking, “I could use this for Cupcake Friday!”, but as I finished coloring the image last night I realized there’s no cupcake. Unless… have you seen the cupcakes that you bake in an ice cream cone? Well, I’m pretending that ice cream cone is not ice cream at all, but a frosted cupcake. Sound good to you? LOL! Despite the missing cupcake, there are plenty of non-caloric treats to enjoy in this image. I colored it with Copic markers and added Crystal Effects and Stardust Stickles to parts of the image. The patterned paper is American Crafts and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. Carol from Happiness Blooms is the Featured Cupcake Sampler this week! She made not one, but TWO adorable cards using this sketch. I just love the sentiment on her cupcake card. Too cute! Make sure you check out more of Carol’s beautiful work (and her second sketch card!) on her blog. Now you have an opportunity to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler next week! I’ll chose the most clever, creative, and cute creation from the submissions this weekend to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler next week. Your design and blog will be featured on my blog during Cupcake Friday. One random winner will also be selected from among all the participants to receive a smorgasbord of grosgrain ribbons from Taylored Expressions. So… here’s the sketch challenge! You’re not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got ’em why not use ’em!? 🙂 You’re welcome to create something other than a card, just stick as closely to the sketch as possible and you’ll be eligible for the prize drawing and Featured Cupcake Sampler honors. If you’re uploading to Splitcoast use keyword TECC18 (for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 18). Leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog post or gallery upload so I can check it out! You must have your cards uploaded by Monday, June 2nd at 8am PST to be eligible for the prize drawing. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
