Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #20
Good morning! Happy Friday and Happy Cupcake Day! Thank you all for the birthday wishes yesterday! I had the most wonderful birthday! Jon woke me up in the morning with a plate of donuts from my favorite little donut shop… the perfect way to start the day! Then he gave me my gift… tickets to see Wicked a week from today! I’ve seen it once on a girl’s night out, but we’ve never seen it together. I’m super excited. Then I got to work and my girlfriends there brought me the most bright and beautiful bouquet of flowers! I ran home from work over my lunch break and found a package waiting on my doorstep. My wonderful friend, Jami, sent me Gordon Ramsey’s Fast Food book. She remembered how much I love Hell’s Kitchen! And then all the phone calls and emails from family and friends to wish me a happy birthday. The whole day was like one big warm fuzzy. Thank you for being a part of that with your emails, cards, and orders on the website yesterday! (((HUGS))) I can’t think of a better way to follow up my birthday than with Cupcake Friday! Today’s sketch allows for some creativity in creating your background. Use up those scraps of patterned papers, coordinating cardstocks, ribbons, rows of rhinestones… the possibilities are endless! I used my new Chatterbox
Happy Day paper along with Frosted Yellow and Desert Coral Medium cardstock from Prism Papers and Wild Wasabi cardstock from Stampin’ Up. The cute girl with the cupcake is Cinnamon by Penny Black. I colored her with Copic markers and added some Guava Grosgrain from Taylored Expressions. The scalloped border is cut and embossed with a Spellbinders die. Now let me introduce you to the Featured Cupcake Sampler this week! Her Stampendous cupcake card last week was so bright and fresh… it totally wowed me! Meet Laurie Schmidlin from Just Give Me Stamps! Most of you probably visit Laurie’s blog already. She is amazing! The cherry and chocolate sprinkles look edible so it’s probably a good thing I don’t have this card in my hand right now… I might try to eat it! LOL! You can check out all the card details on Laurie’s blog! Now it’s your turn to try the sketch! I’ll chose the most clever, creative, and cute creation from the submissions this weekend to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler next week. Your design and blog will be featured on my blog during Cupcake Friday. One random
winner will also be selected from among all the participants to receive the fun Stampendous Summer Party acrylic set! You’re not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got ’em why not use ’em!? 🙂 You’re welcome to create something other than a card, just stick as closely to the sketch as possible and you’ll be eligible for the prize drawing and Featured Cupcake Sampler honors. If you’re uploading to Splitcoast use keyword TECC20 (for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 20). Leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog post or gallery upload so I can check it out! You must have your cards uploaded by Monday, June 16th at 8am PST to be eligible for the prize drawing. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Make sure you don’t miss the wonderful inspiration from the Cupcake Girls!
