Halloween Inspiration Station
My friend Mish Wooderson is always showing the most fabulous pictures of her stamp studio. I drool over her ingenius ideas for organization. Since reading about her “inspiration station” where she lays out coordinating embellishments, papers, stamps, etc. I’ve been wanting to set something like that up in my stamp studio. As I was browsing the Halloween decorations at Target I came across this two-tiered spider web basket. I immediately thought it would be the perfect place for my Halloween Inspiration Station. Then on Halloween night we’ll put all of our candies for the trick-or-treaters inside! When I got it home I set to the task of pulling out my Halloween stamps, ribbons, embellishments, papers, etc.
I put my favorite Halloween images in the top of the basket along with some Halloween pencils that I bought several years ago. I keep promising myself that I’m going to do something with them and then another Halloween passes and I haven’t done a thing with them. Well… not this year… not
with my new inspiration station! lol. I arranged my patterned papers and Stampendous Halloween Class A’Peels in the bottom of the basket. Then I used clips from my Clip it Up to hang some of my other Halloween embellishments (Martha Stewart ribbon, Making Memories chipboard buttons, the Drippy Goo punch, rhinestones, Halloween brads, etc.). I also picked out scraps of my favorite ribbons and draped them over the back of the basket. After spending all that time organizing everything I was in the mood to make some Halloween cards which turned out to be so quick and easy with everything at my fingertips! I picked up this cute striped paper from my local scrapbook store. It’s from the Spooky Collection by Pebbles, Inc. I used the
Ollie Scarecrow image from last year’s Stampendous fall release and colored it with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Papertrey’s Spooky Sweets set. Since I already had the supplies out I decided I might as well make two matching cards. So far I’m loving this inspiration station idea… be prepared for many for Halloween cards! I also enjoyed seeing all of the creativity from the sketch challenge over the weekend. Frances (a.k.a StampOwl) always creates an adorable creation for the cucpake challenge and this week was no different. You can check out her cute 29 Again! card here. I’m so excited that she’s agreed to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler this week. I also wanted to make special mention of some of my other favorites this week:
Karen created this beautiful card. I love the color combination and how she stamped the flowers on the long panel. Very sweet!
Julie was so clever in turning her witch cupcake into a princess cupcake. I love the curly hair and the sparkly cape… perfect for any little girl!
Michelle created this beauty. The color combination is so calming and she colored her image just perfectly. It makes me want to curl up on the couch with my kitty!
Sankari made this clever bookmark card with her Trick or Sweet stamp set. The card even has a little peek-a-boo sentiment!
Thank you all for sharing your creativity! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
