Happy Friday and Happy Cupcake Day! The last couple of weeks have gone by so fast since I didn’t work last Friday or this Monday! I looked at the calendar today and couldn’t believe we’re already over halfway through the month! Do you all know
Ashley from
Treehouse Stamps? She was so sweet to send me the Treehouse cupcake image to add to my collection of cupcake stamps and I thought today’s sketch would be perfect to show it off. I chose papers from the SU Baja Breeze Collection of designer papers. My patterned paper is getting totally out of hand so I’ve been trying to get better about using up what I have already purchased. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic

markers. The cherry looks totally red in the photo, but it’s really more *pinkish* in real life. For the stitching element I used Stampin’ Up’s All in a Row and Taken with Teal ink. You’ll notice in my sketch below that the image panel is a rectangular shape, but feel free to experiment with other shapes. I love the versatility of this sketch… any shape would look good! Feel free to get creative with the stitching element as well (think real stitching, stamped stitching, faux stitching, ric rac, rub ons, etc.). I’ve been taking cues from my stamping buddy, Denise lately. Her creations are always so inspiring and I love how she decorates the inside of all of her cards. It’s so nice to open a card and see pretty-ness on the inside too! ๐ So I added some coordinating patterned paper and a sentiment.

Now let me introduce you to the Featured Cupcake Sampler this week! Jackie Pedro created
this adorable Halloween card with her new TE stamps last week and she’s done it again this week with this super cute pumpkin creation. You can check out all the deets and the rest of Jackie’s beautiful work on her blog:
The Scalloped Edge. Thanks for stampling the sketch this week, Jackie! Now it’s your turn to try the sketch! I’ll chose the most clever, creative, and cute creation from the submissions this weekend to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler next week. Your design and blog will be

featured
on my blog during Cupcake
Friday. You’re not
required to use cupcakes
for the
challenge, but if
you got
’em why not use ’em!? You’re
welcome to create something other than a card, just stick as
closely
to the sketch as possible and you’ll be
eligible
for the Featured Cupcake Sampler honors. If
you’re uploading to Splitcoast use keyword
TECC34 (for Taylored
Expressions
Cupcake C
hallenge 33). Leave a comment on this post with a link to your
blog
post or gallery upload so I can check it out! You must have your cards uploaded by Monday, September 22nd at 8am PST to be eligible for the featured cupcake sampler. I can’t wait to see what you come up with! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
And you definitely don’t want to miss the wonderful inspiration from the Cupcake Crew this week!
