Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I had a little time on my hands yesterday which doesn’t happen very often so I decided to sit down and design a few options for our Christmas cards this year. Over the past couple of years, I’ve collected numerous stencils, stencil paste, and all the other necessities for this technique, but just haven’t made time to actually do anything with it before yesterday! So instead of gathering dust for another year, I brought it all out and created these cards. Have you ever tried embossing paste with

stencils? I wish I could say it’s super quick and easy, but that wouldn’t be truthful. I can say that the extra time and effort you spend on this technique produces stunning results. If you’re interested in a tutorial, leave a comment below to let me know and I’ll snap some pictures of the process. In a nutshell, you start with a stencil (the same metal stencils that are also used for dry embossing). Place your stencil over the top of your paper and secure each side with tape. Smooth the embossing paste over the top of the stencil (almost like you’re frosting a cake), and use a small spatula tool to take off the excess paste. Peel the stencil from the paper and you’ll see that the embossing paste has filled the cracks. Before the embossing paste dries, I poured Dazzling Diamonds glitter over the top. There are several different embossing pastes (translucent, white, black, gold, etc). I used glossy white embossing paste for the two blue and

white cards. The Christmas tree is a little bit different technique. I used gold embossing paste and let it dry completely. Then I placed the stencil back over the tree and used a sponge dauber to dab glue onto the tree. Then I pulled out my green gold leaf and rubbed it over the tree. The gold leaf doesn’t stick to the parts that don’t have glue on them. I added a couple of red rhinestones as ornaments. Besides the time consuming technique, these cards are super simple! I wanted the design to emphasize the technique so I kept it simple. One of my other favorite parts of the weekend was checking out all of your sketch challenge creations! I love hopping around to all of your blogs and galleries and I’m always amazed at your talent! Silke Ledlow’s sweet and simple design caught my eye this week! You can check out her
adorable cupcake card here and make sure you tune in on Friday to see what she comes up with as the Featured Cupcake Sampler! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
