Ohmygosh…poor Morris. My ZsaZsa would FREAK out big time if that ever happened to her – I can’t even imagine. You have to post a picture though – I think everyone would like to see this one. At least I would! I’ve trimmed my one cat when her fur was a little matted and it seemed to come back relatively fast. Of course, my idea of “relatively fast” and Morris’ idea might be two different things! Cute cute card btw (as usual, what’s new there?!?)

  • (Nerdette) Stephanie

I’m sorry about your cat, why on Earth would they shave him bald. The good news is that it will grow back… eventually 😉

Love this card, it’s simple but somehow so crisp and clean. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • Charlene

Poor kitty..sounds like they thought he was a poodle! Cute card!

  • Diane

I am laughing, knowing how you feel! We have a Goldendoodle and since they don’t shed at all, when we took her to a new groomer she had red hair like a sheep dog. We were going out of town and stopped on the way to pick her up, and she looked like a skinned rat, they left her tail like a lions at the end and it her drove her crazy as it was so heavy compared the rest of her tail. It was a 5 1/2 hour trip and I cried all the way there everytime I looked at her. Her collar wouldn’t even fit, just would fall off, so I feel for your poor…..poor, embarrassed kitty!!!

  • Sandy

Poor Morris!! How awful for him. Your story did make me laugh though … what got me was the comment about your other cat thinking he’s some sort of alien. Thanks for the chuckle. I would think it would grow back pretty quickly.

  • jana

Poor Morris! My cat had surgery and they shaved him and I thought it grew back pretty quickly. Though it was just a PART of him that was shaved not all of him! 🙂

Love this card — beautiful colors!

  • Michelle

Can you recommend your favorite markers for card making?

  • Sherrie

Oh my…I’m not a cat person at the best of times, and a shaved cat??? Did you ever see the friends episode with Rachels’ cat Lefu?….It was this ugly shaved thing that hissed….totally made me chuckle when you mentioned Morris! I would have been under the same assumption as you were…pretty little bow and such. Hope his hair returns quickly!
    Very cute card too!

Taylor – Where’s the photo? Please show us the poor kitty. While in England, I saw several Cornish Rex and they have little hair. Pattie

  • Maren

Seriously? That just isn’t right…cats are defined by their hair! So sorry. Poor guy! Gorgeous card….love those colors!

  • Amber

OMG that is AWFUL! I would have been so mad, lol! Poor kitty! HOpe it grows back fast!

  • Lisa Hjulberg

Taylor, we had our white fluffy cat shaved on purpose because of her incredibly horrible mats. Like Morris, they gave her the “lion” cut. Our other cat (her sister) and the dogs truly thought Whitie was a stranger when she came home, but it didn’t take too long for them to figure out that it was really her. I think part of the problem was also the smell of the soaps and such they used when she was at the groomer. Anyway, in Whitie’s case, she is much more alert and active since her shave. It’s amazing what a positive transformation it’s been. She must have been so hot and miserable before with all that matted hair. I have no idea how long it will take to grow back because Whitie’s is still short after more than one month. I have a feeling it will be a long time… but I think we’re going to keep her cut short for the reasons I mentioned. Definitely take some pix!

  • Angel

How funny….you need to post a pic! Your card is adorable too!

  • Michelle

    Lovely card Taylor!

Sorry your kitty was de-furred at the groomer! We have a standard poodle so we know what it is like to show up and say, “Ah, that is not what I ordered.”

Now you know what not to ask for!

  • Basement Stamper

Sorry, this post got me chuckling today just picturing him with his body shaved off. Hopefully it grows back fast for you!

  • Mary Fish

Charming images. Love the curved corners and DP. And you are creating those cute details on the scallops on the ribbon. Do share. 1/8th punch? Hugs, Mary

  • Stamp Talk with Tosh

Awww…your poor cat. Our groomer always asks us how much we want taken off, etc. I can’t believe they would do something that drastic without asking. YIKES!! Charming card though. Love the cheery colors and your coloring of that darling image!!

  • Mary

Taylor… hang in there, it will grow back. In a couple of weeks he’ll look GREAT!!! We have our female cat shaved 3 times during the summer months and actually just picked her up from the vet Monday after boarding her for the weekend. They shaved her one last time before winter. I tell her that she looks like a little ballerina and my hubby says she looks like a skinned rat… so…. just tell MORRIS how handsome he is so he doesn’t get a complex, and in a few weeks he’ll look great!

  • Donna

oh dear that is funny! You MUST share a picture with us! Honestly have never heard of cats getting groomed, just dogs…maybe that’s why. I’ve learned you need to be specific with your requests – just ask Libby about that.

  • Rhonda

LOL!!! Oh my gosh, your story is hilarious!! Poor kitty!!! I don’t know what I’d do if that happened to my cat!! You NEED to post pictures so we can see what he looks like! Before and after would be so fun!!

Such a gorgeous card (as always!!)

  • Kelly Schelske

I am sititing hear laughing out loud and my son thinks I’m nuts!! I think it should grow back pretty quickly…we had the opposite experience, we took our cat to a kennel while we were on holidays and specifically asked for ehr to be shaved as it twas the summer time and she would be much cooler…I go and pick her up and….nothing was done!! She needed to be shaved…so my hubby did the best he could and had to cut some mats out with scissors, but her hair grew back really quick….

    Beautiufl card:-) Hugs, Kelly

  • Heather

OH NO!!!! Poor Kitty!!! I had to laugh though .. And I SO needed a laugh… I can imagine your surprise when you saw him. Or shock rather :/ … i hope the others warm back up to him and he gets his hair back very soon!

  • TxScrapAddict

Poor poor Morris! I’m sure he is feeling humiliated. I think he needs a Get Hair Soon Card!

  • Heather "Hev"

Now that gorgeous card would cheer anyone up!!

Your poor kitty!! I am sure if he was joining the army youd expect that – but I agree – grooming is to be made to look “pretty” and presentable. I do hope it grows back really quick!!

  • Laura

OMG Girl; I am dying over here. I litteraly have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. I am sorry to hear about Morris. I don’t have a cat, so I’m not sure how long it will take the hair to grow back….LOL!!!!

Oh, and SUPER CUTE card. Love the colors!

  • Charmaine

I love the colors you chose…very happy colors for a cheery note to a friend.

Taylor, this box is absolutely devine, what a perfect gift set! The designer paper you chose is gorgeous! Grandparents’ Day is coming up in September, I think I’ll have to do something like this for Mom and my MIL.

  • stephanieallen

I hope you have a wonderful Dream Dinners experience. It is the ultimate buy in bulk and save way to have a home cooked dinner and does cost less than buying the same ingredients at a grocery store. It is also very eco friendly, so much less packaging when you buy in bulk. We actually have children on our tasting panels; it is amazing to see what kids will really eat. We put kids in a box when we only feed them “white foods”. Don’t miss the August menu, our guests voted for their favorites to be on the August Menu. You can get even more ideas on my blog Take care. https://stephanieallen.wordpress.com/

Those meal places are so fun. I took my hubby to one for our anniversary because he likes to dream he can cook. I wish it was in our budget to do it more often.

  • Sharon (notimetostamp)

Wonderful, Taylor!!! Total genius to use the JR box!!!!

  • Julie Masse

These are just beautiful Taylor!! I love the OA paper and your design sets them off beautiful!! 🙂

  • Rhonda

So pretty! I love this. It is really a great idea and you did a wonderful job on it. Thanks for sharing.

  • Bethany Paull

Great, fun colors. I love the box. This border (the double dots) looks like my fave of the JustRite stampers so far.

  • Lori

Beautiful! I love these colors… and simplicity of the design but the powerful PUNCH of the colors is great design! I’ve very quickly become a fan of your style… keep up the inspirational work! – Lori

  • barb mann

Beautiful cards Taylor. Just want to mention the newly released Stampin’ Up 1-3/4″ circle punch should work perfectly for the JustRite monograms. Also I’ve found the Marvy scallop circle (blue one)works great layered behind the 1-3/4″ circle.

  • Deborah

Love these note cards! Do you know of a nice embossed number set? CB make one? Thanks! Deb

  • Lynn

This is such a sharp looking box set with cards! The designer papers along with the Just Rite Stamps are a perfect match!

My friends and I did Dream Dinners earlier this year and it was lots of fun, its a great way to plan for a weeks worth of meals!

  • Charmaine (CharmWarm)

Taylor, these are just GORGEOUS! I LOVE them. . .the colors, the layout, everything!

  • Shelly

Oh, I need that font. Pretty cards!

  • Laura

Glad to hear you had a nice date night with Jon. I love this set of cards and the patterned paper is great. What a wonderful gift this would make.

  • Donna

so glad you enjoyed your date! I always thought about those meals but I think they are expensive, but I guess it's mainly because I enjoy planning meals; it gives me & MY John time together shopping & chatting while we cook & enjoy the fruits of our labor. well, it wasn't always this blissful (we had to learn to work together in the kitchen, it took about 10 years! gasp) Love your notecards & box! thanks for linking Jerri's blog – it's quite a gem!

  • Chrissy Joyner

    Beautiful notecards. Love the colors!
