Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #40
Happy Friday, Happy Cupcake Day, and Happy Halloween! Hooray… it’s finally here! I’ve been making Halloween cards and treats for months and now the day has finally arrived. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I’m so excited to see all the trick-or-treaters in their cute costumes tonight. After the majority of the trick-or-treaters come through we’ll probably head out to some of the houses that get all decked out for Halloween. Someday when we have our own house I totally want to do that! *grin* I figured it was fitting to get out my Trick or Sweet stamps for the cupcake challenge today. I realized that there was only one stamp in the bunch that remained uninked… the ‘when mummies roam’ sentiment so it became my goal to use it and I love how this turned out! I colored the images with Copic markers to match another sheet of flocked Doodlebug patterned paper that I picked up at my local scrapbook store. I think I mentioned how much I
LOVE this paper! The sketch below calls for a second layer along the bottom half of the card. I didn’t want to do an actual layer so I created the appearance of a layer by only stamping the bottom half of my card base with the Polka Dot Backgrounder from CHF. I didn’t want to cover up the sentiment with my circle element so I just incorporated the sentiment into the circle by stamping a partial ‘Halloween’ word onto the circle and lining it up with my already stamped image panel. Now I’d like to introduce you to the Featured Cupcake Sampler! Mary Fish has been catching my eye with her beautiful Stampin’ Up creations for quite some time. Last week her card was top notch with the intriguing color combination and lovely arrangement of images for the sketch. I love the beautiful colors she chose for her sample tdoay, all the cute polka dots, and of course the yummy cupcake! You can check out all the details on her blog Stampin’ Pretty. Thanks so much for sampling the sketch, Mary! Now it’s your turn to to try the sketch! I’ll choose the most clever, creative, and cute creation from the submissions
this weekend to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler next week. Your design and blog will be featured on my blog during Cupcake Friday. You’re not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got ’em why not use ’em!? You’re welcome to create something other than a card, just stick as closely to the sketch as possible and you’ll be eligible for the Featured Cupcake Sampler honors. If you’re uploading to Splitcoast use keyword TECC40 (for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 40). Leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog post or gallery upload so I can check it out! You must have your cards uploaded by Monday, November 3rd at 8am PST (OMGosh… can you believe it’s November!?) to be eligible for the featured cupcake sampler. If you’re interested in more cupcakes today, stop by the SASI blog and check out the first Our Friday Friend and learn how you can become the featured stamper on the SASI blog! I can’t wait to see what you come up with for the sketch! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
