Beate’s Weekend Sketch with Elzybells
Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Our weekend was pretty relaxing… the big news… we bought a new vacuum cleaner! lol. Vacuum cleaner shopping turned out to be quite funny. We walked into aisles full of vacuum cleaners and I was instantly lost. It’s been a good five years since we bought a vacuum and back then it was Jon’s bachelor vacuum… probably the cheapest model from Walmart. It lasted us a long time so when it broke down last weekend we knew it was time for a new one. Anyhow, the salesman walked up to us and asked if we needed help. I said, “How could you tell? Yes, we need help!” So he walked us over to the model that had a sign next to it that said #1 Consumer’s Choice. It was $250. We don’t have a huge house and most of it is hardwood so I really wasn’t keen on spending $250 for a vacuum. We had been looking at a $150 model in another aisle so I asked him, “What bells and whistles is my extra $100 going to get me?” His answers still make me chuckle. I really don’t think he knew a thing about vacuums because he started reading the features that were printed on the vacuum…. “Well, this one has 12 amps” and then he pointed to the handle of the vacuum and said “And all these nice buttons on the handle to select your setting.” lol. That wasn’t really helping me with the differences. All that to say, we ended up with an affordable vacuum (unfortunately, not one of those cool Dyson vacuums) that we’re hoping will last us at least another 5 years! 🙂 After vacuum shopping I had a chance to sit down and play with Beate’s Weekend Sketch. I love sketches with circles so this one was super fun! I used my Sugar Coated Doodlebug patterned paper, the Fiskars threading water punch, and my Spellbinders circle dies. The image is one of the Elzybells stamps from A Muse. I colored it with Copic markers, added white liquid applique for the snow, and Glossy Accents on the igloo. The red polka dot grosgrain is from the TE store and the ‘merry’ sentiment is from Season’s Sweetings.
