Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #45
Happy Friday and Happy Cupcake Day! I’m so excited for this weekend because I scored tickets to the huge SoCal football rivalry… USC vs. UCLA at the Rose Bowl on Saturday! And to top it all off I get to go with some of my favorite people. I’ll be sure to take some pictures! While I was in Texas in November we went to one of the local scrapbook stores and I found this adorable Sweet Cakes Collection of patterned paper and rubons by Pink Paislee. I loved the bright, fun color combination so it had to be mine! I pulled out my Stampendous Tiers of Treats image and colored it with Copic markers. Some of the pieces are highlighted with Crystal Stickles and the strawberries and cherries are covered with Glossy Accents. The red polka dot ribbon is from the TE store and I grabbed some heart brads from my stash to finish it off. Now that I’m taking a good look at the actual sketch, I realize that I didn’t follow the bottom piece correctly! lol. I always tell you that the sketch is just for inspiration so I guess I took my own advice this time! However, the Featured Cupcake Sampler followed the sketch perfectly with her beautiful creation! I’m so excited to introduce you to her! Cindy Lawrence caught my eye with the adorable snowman card she created last week. The gorgeous flower she created using today’s sketch is nothing short of amazing! I love the cool ribbon treatment too! You can check out all the details on this card and the rest of Cindy’s beautiful work on her blog: The Creative Closet! Thanks for sampling the sketch this week, Cindy! Now it’s your turn to to try the sketch! I’ll choose the most clever, creative, and cute creation from the submissions this weekend to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler next week. Your design and blog will be featured on my blog during Cupcake Friday. You’re not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got ’em why not use ’em!? You’re welcome to create something other than a card, just stick as closely to the sketch as possible and you’ll be eligible for the Featured Cupcake Sampler honors. If you’re uploading to Splitcoast use keyword TECC45 (for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 45). Leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog post or gallery upload so I can check it out! You must have your cards uploaded by Monday, December 8th at 8am PST to be eligible for the featured cupcake sampler. If you’re interested in more cupcakes today, stop by the SASI blog and check out Our Friday Friend this week. She’s sharing her beautiful artwork… you won’t want to miss it! Also learn how you can become our next Friday Friend on the SASI blog! I can’t wait to see what you come up with for the sketch. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
And don’t forget to check out the wonderful inspiration from the Cupcake Crew this week!
