Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks Day 2
I’m so glad you’re all excited about our new Whimsical Wishes collection of stamps that the Baker’s Dozen showcased yesterday! I can’t wait to show you the whole set… just one more day! All of our new stamps will be released tomorrow Thursday, March 5th at 8am PST. And you’ll want to mark your calendar to join us over at PaperCraftPlanet for a super fun release party (with challenges and prizes!) starting at 7am PST! You’ll need to bring your “thinking cap” along for some Taylored Expressions Trivia too! I know it’s early for those of us on the West Coast, but we hope you’ll grab a latte (or a Mountain Dew in my case) and join us!
I’ve been telling all of you cupcake fans not to worry! Taylored Expressions will still be bringing you the sweets you love. Our talented illustrator, Jessie Oleson of Cakespy.com, has done it again with some springy goodness. I’m so lucky to have her join me on this journey and I guarantee you won’t want to miss any of the fabulous sets she’ll be releasing this year! Today the Baker’s Dozen is sharing sneak peeks using the new Sweet Spring stamp set! These stamps are the same high-quality, deeply etched pink rubber and each set comes already trimmed and mounted on a full-color storage panel.
For my Sweet Spring sneak peek I have a card to share as well as a tutorial on how to create this Easter basket favor. I can already see these little baskets sitting next to each table setting at Easter dinner. I could fill them with nuts, jelly beans, chocolate eggs, or a little bit of each! I better not get ahead of myself though…first let me tell you about the card. I used the Easter Key Ingredients which includes patterned paper from My Mind’s Eye and matching Prism cardstock. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Choice Snow White cardstock and colored it with Copic markers. I cut out the sentiment with a Spellbinders tag die and added a small pink gingham bow to the top of the image. This image and sentiment combination totally speak to my sweet tooth! I love jelly beans and I make sure they’re always surrounding me during this season! And now for the easter basket favor…
Start with a 4.5″ square and score at 1.5″ and 3″ on each side. I drew in the black lines so you could see it better in the pictures, but obviously yours won’t have black lines on it.
Cut up to the center square on one of the creases in each of the four corners.
The box should fold together easily. I suggest using a strong adhesive (Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue or the TE Sticky Tape) to adhere the sides together.
Then you’ll need two Easter basket die cuts. These die cuts will be available for purchase in the TE Store for the release tomorrow.
Glue one Easter basket die cut to the front and back of the box.
To create the wicker basket effect, cut several strips of paper at 1/4″ width. Fold the papers back and forth in a zig zag pattern, glue them to the front of the basket, and trim to size.
To finish off the basket I tied a double ribbon bow (pink gingham and white grosgrain) around the handles. Then I added a Spellbinders tag stamped with the ‘basketful of blessings’ sentiment. The little basket will hold approximately six chocolate eggs.
Thanks so much for stopping by for our second day of sneak peeks! We’ll see you tomorrow for the release party (7am PST) and then back here on the blog for all the release deta
