Sneak Peeks Day 2: In the Park & Weigh to Go
Good morning! Thanks for stopping by during our second day of sneak peeks for the latest Taylored Expressions goodies. Today, the Baker’s Dozen and I are sharing projects using two more stamp sets, a new BIG background stamp, and another fun Project Pantry kit! All of the new products will be available for purchase Thursday, July 8th at 8am PST at the TE Store!
The first set I want to show you is the newest addition to our Apple Doodle Ink family, Weigh to Go! We all know somebody on a diet, right? Or maybe that somebody is you. This set is perfect for creating encouraging cards and gifts for the dieters in your life! I decided to make a card and matching food journal. I’m not sure who I’ll send the card to yet, but the food journal is for me! 🙂 On the card, I started by stamping the sentiment/image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloring it with Copics. Then I cut it out with Spellbinders Labels 4. I was inspired by this adorable card that Jackie made so I decided to leave the panel inside the die and sponge around the outside with Yellow Ochre chalk ink. It was such a quick and easy way to spruce up the image. Why have I never done it before!? You’ll likely be seeing lots of that technique on my future cards! For the food journal, I covered two 4″x4″ pieces of chipboard with cardstock and decorated the front. I cut lots of 4″x4″ pieces of text weight paper for the inside of the book, punched a hole in the top left corner, and used a binder post screw to hold the journal together. To decorate the label for my food journal I stamped the words first and masked them before stamping my vegetable friends celery, broccoli, and carrots. YUM! Not quite as yummy and cupcakes and ice cream, but hopefully those foods won’t be making it into my food journal! *grin*
All of the ingredients I used on the projects above (and below) are from the new Summertime Project Pantry kit. This kit features the most adorable, bright, and sunshiny patterned paper from a brand new company called Echo Park!
For just $19.95 you’ll receive the following perfectly coordinated supplies:
- 14 sheets of cardstock (12 colored, 2 Choice Snow White)
- 20 sheets of 6×6 double-sided patterned paper from the Echo Park Sweet Summertime Collection
- 5 yards of ribbon (1 yard each of 5 different styles)
- 12×12 Sheet of Alpha & Border Stickers
- Assorted Buttons
- 1 package of Candy Dots (assortment of green glitter, yellow glitter, baby blue, and orange)
And now for more sneak peeks! Nancy McKinney illustrated the most amazing set as part of the Whimsical Wishes Collection. The set is called In the Park, but let me tell you that she most certainly knocked it out of the park with these adorable images! *chuckle* I crack myself up with lame jokes all the time! Just give me a minute to finish my chuckle. OK… moving on! I love creating scenes with my stamps so I started by stamping the tree in Memento Rich Cocoa and coloring in with Copics. Then I added the tire swing, dog, and bird to the scene along with a strip of scalloped grass (a sticker from the Project Pantry kit above). I also used a new BIG background stamp on this card. Do you see it? It’s called Stitched Plaid and I used it behind the image panel. It’s hard to see in the photo, but it really looks like stitched lines complete with ‘pokes’ from the needle. The ribbon, button, and dotted sticker along the bottom are also part of the Project Pantry kit.
There are a ton of image combination possibilities with both of these new sets so you’re definitely going to want to check out the rest of the Baker’s Dozen sneak peeks to see what these talented ladies have created!
