TESC124 – Triple Purse Book
Every time I look at this week’s sketch, I see three washing machines! Since I don’t have a washing machine stamp, I had to put that idea out of my head quickly! As we were waiting for a table at Outback last night all I could think about was what I should make for my sketch card today. And then it hit me! I remembered seeing a notebook in the Stationery aisle at TJ Maxx that had a full cover, but the inside pages of the notebook were split into three different categories. With the help of my new Cinch machine I thought I’d see if I could pull off something similar. I started by cutting the front and back covers from chipboard (3.75″ x 8.5″ each). Then I covered them with some flowery American Crafts patterned paper. The flowers in the patterned paper perfectly matched my Daisy Chain border punch so I used that for the scalloped element in the sketch. Then I used the Take Note stamp set to create three different lists. I stamped the words in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, punched it out with a 1 3/8″ circle punch and layered it onto a Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circle. Then I went a little crazy and added a Tiny Twinkle to each daisy center as well as Ruby Liquid Pearl dots around each scalloped circle. I couldn’t add a ton of dimension since this notepad will likely be hanging out in the bottom of my purse! Now for the inside of the book. I used some pastel blue text weight paper and cut it to (3.75″ x 8.5″). I punched along one long side with the Cinch. Then I cut the pieces at 2.75″ and 5.75″. That means the two outside notepads are 2.75″ each and the middle notepad is 3″. I’m so excited with how these turned out and now that the tough part is over (figuring out the measurements), I can’t wait to make a bunch of these for Christmas gifts!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
