DIY Fashion Statement
Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I could sum up our weekend in one word… WOW! I am thrilled to see how many of you are excited about the launch of Taylored Dies and our new stamp sets! Many of you got your hands on our very first dies over the weekend, but many of you also know that we sold out quickly. As with the launch of any new product, it is tough to gauge the initial demand and we apologize for quick sell out. But there’s good news! More dies are on the way and we should be fully in stock on all dies by the beginning of next week. So you don’t have much longer to wait!
Today I have some special non-card projects to share with you! My mom and I have been tinkering in my stamp space, dreaming up ways to use products from the TE Store in a unique way. You’ve probably noticed that wearing flowers in your hair has become quite a trend lately. Many trendy teen stores like Forever 21 sell clips, barrettes, and pins with flowers on the end. In fact, I’ve purchased several myself! But when I remembered the beautiful Maya Road flowers we have at the store I took my barrettes right back to Forever 21 and decided I could make my own! I started by purchasing barrettes with holes in the end (you can find them at Michaels or Hobby Lobby). This will allow you to hand-stitch the flower onto the barrette for a sturdy hold. Then grab a needle and thread and start stitching! They’re super quick and easy and pretty cute, don’t you think!?
Now for another fashion statement… maybe you’ve seen the ruffled rose trims being incorporated into shirt and tank designs this summer? I love the soft, feminine look of this beautiful trim and it has been making a big entrance into the craft world as well. We carry a full line of Bloomers by Webster’s Pages and Ruffled Rose Trim by American Crafts. Not only is it fun for cards and scrapbook pages, but when I kept seeing these beautiful shirts, I immediately thought “Well, I could do that myself!” Actually, that’s a bit of a stretch. I don’t sew or stitch so my mom took over and hand-stitched this beautiful rose trim around the neckline of a plain hot pink shirt. Didn’t it turn out so cute? I just love it!
So there you have it! Some inexpensive ways to make your very own fashion statement! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
